Are we still in need of new music?

I've got some time to compose some stuff, I previously composed a few of the tracks years ago, Casualties of War, Into the Shadows, Sad, I think one or two more.

I haven't been active in years because I've been busy but are we still looking for new musical content?

Re: Change title screen music

Hi guys, unofficial LoM here, haven't logged on in ages, just came to chime in. transience.ogg isn't used anywhere else in mainline I believe. As Aleksi did compose it as a Main Menu theme, I think it would fitting to have it back for now. At least until we get tired of it, and then we can switch it...

Re: New Composition

Hi Theoden, the piece could work, but it needs work. You need to invest in some high quality samples. What are you composing this with now? The snare has that machine gun effect. Also, one thing with the harmony, aside from the opening bit, you're relying on i-VI-iv way too much. The era for this ga...

Re: regarding donation links for music composers

The only way I could logically see this happening is if someone wanted a sole composer for their entire campaign that they were creating, and they work something out outside of the forums...like West said, we already have plenty of great quality music, adding more for the sake of composers getting p...

Re: New Music - One Thousand Suns [UMC]

No I have not. Is that track still in the UMC library somewhere? If so, there is no need to replace it with this one. Although I never did make an .ogg of this, did someone take the liberty in doing that?

New Music - One Thousand Suns [UMC]

This will not be mainlined due to the distorted guitar, but anyone who wants to use it in a UMC please, go right ahead.

Any comments before I .ogg this?

Re: FREESF2 is back up

Yeah, I'm still tweaking things to make it work. Check back in a week or so.

Before, the site was actually DOWN. Now, it's back up just under construction.

FREESF2 is back up

Hi guys, I put the site back up, with some more soundfonts as well. If you guys have any that you want available to everyone, PM me and I'll put them up on the site. Still working out the details, and the site may go up and down within the next week while I finalize it but for all of your free sound...

Re: Midi files of all used compositions so far available?

Yeah but that's like asking us to bear our secrets and show he we create. For me, this is something I like to have for myself. All of these techniques etc. I have learned on my own, and I believe everyone should as well. As far as melody lines, just transcribe them. Learn the piano keyboard up to th...

Re: Midi files of all used compositions so far available?

I can't speak for anyone else but for me, that would be impossible. It's not like these MIDI files are clean versions you can just load into sibelius and it will play back fine. My MIDI files are very sloppy, a lot of notes not quantized exactly (actually, 99.9% of my notes are not quantized) so you...

Re: Voice overs

I don't know about everyone else, but I've always disliked voice over in games. As soon as they added it in FF games, I stopped playing them. I had it turned down in the DQ games. It just ruins the aspect of imagination for me, as did fancy graphics as well. Part of the stimulation of playing a game...

Re: Frantic Replacement

I like it a lot. A bit too much compression on the bass drums/hits though. It's real easy to hear it. I like it other than that. The horns (trumpets I believe) at the end were a little emotionless I would say. I think a cool effect would be like a sfz crescendo. But it depends on the feel you were g...

Re: layer soundtrack

I like this one more than your other submission, this one is a bit darker, and "epic", and more in the timeline of music that fits the game. Your samples are great, no problems there. I still think your harmony could be more classical style, listen to prokofiev, Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Kors...
