[MP 1v1 Default] First to Time of Day or Second?

Hi guys,

just wanted to get everyone's thoughts on how p1 experiences each TimeOfDay first, and then p2 experiences it.

do you prefer being first to each time of day? or second?

personally i've always had an unjustified hunch that first to each time of day has some advantage.

any problem you are trying to overcome, using assassins or archers or wolf riders or whatever...
you can usually overcome with more grunts, used strategically.

i specialise northerners.

i can only say that you're probably undervaluing grunts.

or you are undervaluing trolls.

when i played the other races, then i realised how expensive the other units are relative to these discount troops. use and abuse them.

it really depends on what units are in the area / in range. whether those units can kill the goblin in one attack or one turn.

goblin on mountain has a good chance of surviving one attack from some units (ghost, orc archer, grunt[2 strikes], etc.)

goblins are good against several units and i use them.

sometimes i recruit them and send them in pairs, making sure they have the same speed.

i find their best use is sitting on villages or blocking out tiles.

my idea of showing your 'random' choice and making it changeable, combined with hiding player races/leaders pre-game would satisfy all these people. those who are lazy to decide, want variety/challenge, can pick random. if they don't like it, they can random again, or choose. those who have a prefe...

Do you think that hidden leaders should be revealed before battle or when scouted? i have the opinion of only one person, and this is regarding an issue that is far from settled, but i think that they should be scouted to find the opponent's race. that's fun and realistic(in a fantasy-setting) to me.
