Missing units in units.wesnoth.org in default 1.10 mainline
Hi,
I noticed that the Poacher and Footpad lines of units are missing in the 1.10 default era units database in the Knalgan Alliance.

Re: iPhone port started!
Following your progression in the port is really interesting and it looks really good ! I was thinking of putting a "next unit" button above the "end turn" button, since I find myself using that hotkey all the time. Wouldn't that be "dangerous" since you can click on en...

Re: iPhone port started!
For starters, I would like to see a show of hands who has an iPhone or iPod Touch and dreams of playing BfW on the go. If you can make a BfW port for the iPhone, I might be interested in buying the iPhone to be able to play :P ! By the way, are you going to build Wesnoth for the iPhone/iPod or will...

Re: don't know if this has come up before: hidden faction choice
Seriously now, consider for a moment that your idea of how the game should be played is not necessarily the same as everyone else's. Yes, why force people to play random as it is not everyone else preference? :P It's possible to allow the host to set an option to hide everyone's faction though. Tha...

Re: don't know if this has come up before: hidden faction choice
For what it's worth, I'd like to have the possibility for the host to make an hidden factions game. I think most of the players have preferred factions and less favored factions (for instance I'm really bad with drakes). Random faction gives an initial advantage against chosen factions but if you ar...

Re: Upgraded to Ubuntu 9.04, now Wesnoth won't start
I've looked at the tutorial you used, as you don't need it anymore, did you remove "deb-src ftp://ftp.ro.debian.org/debian/ lenny main contrib non-free" from your sources.list ? You will no more need libsdl-ttf2.0-dev and libsdl-pango-dev too now so you may apt-get remove them. Did you rem...

Re: Upgraded to Ubuntu 9.04, now Wesnoth won't start
Did you tried to launch the Wesnoth in /usr/game from the command line? It should be as good as to launch it by double-clicking on it.
And if you launch the command wesnoth from the Alt+F2 box?
Did you first installed Wesnoth on your 8.10 by compiling it or maybe using a getdeb package?

Re: fewer campaigns
Yes, it will install the wesnoth package and so it will have the same effect than installing wesnoth only since wesnoth-data is already installed.Soliton wrote:There is no point in installing wesnoth-all since it is just a transitional package.

I have edited the wiki page to precise that.ancestral wrote:Note that this is changing with 1.7+ the Wesnoth user data will be stored at the more appropriate ~/Library/Application Support/Wesnoth_1.x/

Re: fewer campaigns
Wesnoth is packaged in several parts for Ubuntu. You have probably not all of the campaigns packages installed. For Jaunty 9.04, you could install the package wesnoth-all that will contain the game, the data and all the campaigns. If you want, as AI pointed out, there is the music package wesnoth-mu...

Re: wesnotd - could not make fifo
Ubuntu 8.04 is shipped with an older version of Wesnoth not compatible with 1.6, if you want to play MP games using 8.04, you should install a more recent version of Wesnoth (> 1.6). Have you tried getdeb.net ? > chose hardy For the Wesnoth server started automatically, I think also that it is annoy...

Re: You think a faction is overpowered? Come here!
I think the poacher is underpowered comparing it to units that cost the same. the bowman who has 33 hp (compared to the poacher 32) an attack of 4-2 and 6-3 and the same in every thing else but the poachers attacks (3-1 and 4-4) are inferior completely. You can't just compare poacher and archer, yo...

Re: Wow. How many people play this game?
http://wesnothd.wesnoth.org Interresting link! It seems that the players peak is around the evening in european time which is cool for me but probably not for Kitteh which can explain why he does have to wait for players (I myself never wait too long with 1.6). EDIT: I realized that Kitteh didn't p...

Re: New AI Design for Wesnoth 1.7
I'm not sure for the AI to decide by itself to take or not your villages, it seems to me overcomplicated, moreover if an option is created for that : You need to create the algorithm (so you need to define precisely the conditions in which the AI will take possession of the village and it is not sim...

Re: Chinese MID ¥899=$130 (OS based on Debian)
That's cool, I will probably one day buy something like that to play when commuting. The OS is probably an Ubuntu MID tuned by the chinese brand. It has a special user interface conceived for those kind of products and can easiliy be manipulated via the touchscreen. That doesn't tell if Wesnoth is p...
