Re: Layout of unit description

Most HTML engines are over 80% error recovery code and horribly complicated even without that. A smaller or homegrown version would be far preferable, I believe. I guess most of the error recovery code comes from turning buggy HTML source into a valid DOM. In theory we could skip that because the D...

Re: Layout of unit description

Indeed nice but: - Don't forget that a unit may have several advance from/to I've added that to the new screenshot - Need an ability field with also space for at least 3 (eg: Mage of Light) Added - Some languages are more verbose That might be a problem. However the font I used is a little larger t...

Re: Layout of unit description

Erm, the lowest resolution I see and can use here is 800*600. There are also versions of Wesnoth for smaller screens and for some mobile devices. Your picture shows the width is 1024, though. OK, here is a version for a width of 800. However I have to admit space is getting tight. The resistance ta...

I'm running Wesnoth 1.4 on a MacbookPro with 1920x1200 resolution without any problems.

But what about multi monitor support?

Re: Layout of unit description

Well, one thing is sure - the current placement of portraits is bad. You may want to think a bit about smaller resolutions. But imho the first (upper) half of your mockup definitely looks very nice; The width is exactly the same as the current dialog. And for different heights the dialog could scro...

Re: Layout of unit description

OK, with more attacks the description might look like this. This is enough space for five or six attacks.

Layout of unit description

I'd like to propose a new layout of the unit description in the help dialog. What do people think? Is this layout possible with the layout engine in Wesnoth? I don't think there are any unit with more then three attacks. Otherwise the resistances would have to be moved down alongside the terrain mod...
