Re: Re-balancing the horse unit to increase survivability

Anakayub raises a good point when comparing mages to horsemen. Are they similar in their balance of strengths and weaknesses? I wish that were. True, they are both vulnerable but its possible, through careful manuevering, to have a mage strike with the full force of their attack while taking little ...

Re: Re-balancing the horse unit to increase survivability

Tactically, the stragglers left over after you've crushed the enemy line are not the biggest challenge in a battle. Just because the horseman is used to finish off wounded units does not mean it is used only to kill "stragglers left over after you've crushed the enemy". I find it hard to ...

Re: Re-balancing the horse unit to increase survivability

Tactically, the stragglers left over after you've crushed the enemy line are not the biggest challenge in a battle. Almost any unit can be used to take out wounded enemies once the bulk of the force has been dealt with. The real challenge is how to smash the heavy units in the enemy line while not b...

Re: Re-balancing the horse unit to increase survivability

Exactly my point. Its not that the horse units are unbalanced; its that they are TOO balanced. Everyone agrees that the horse unts can only be used under very specific conditions, and even under those conditions, luck has a big part to play in whether they can survive a round or not. My observation ...

Re-balancing the horse unit to increase survivability

I understand that this is likely to be a contentious topic since the horse units are somewhat of a sacred cow (to use a badly mixed metaphore) but one that I think is worth opening for discussion. The Problem: Elvish Pillager's summary of strategies for use of the horseman (http://forum.wesnoth.org/...

Re: EoM in a campaign?

Has anyone developed maps for the lands of the Therians? Are they envisioned to be on the same continent as the lands of Wesnoth or in another world?

Re: Map of the world

Great. Thanks. I am interested in exploring the Southern land as the setting for a campaign idea I'm brewing. Does anyone know who came up with the ideas for Azgar, Serrul, and Kesh, etc.? Has anyone developed these ideas anywhere?

Re: EoM in a campaign?

Cool. Thanks for the info. I'm curious about stories behind these factions. Are they written up in detail anywhere?

EoM in a campaign?

Hi,

I like the Era of Myths. Is it used in a campaign anywhere?

Map of the world

Hi,

Can anyone point me to a map of the world? How about The Southlands? There is some mention of cities and lands there but I can't find any more details.

Thanks,

Random Map Generator?

Anyone. I've come across references to a "random map generator" in the game. I would like to use it to build some test maps. Is it part of the main program or part of the map editor or am I completely confused? I have 1.2.8 for Windows installed.

Re: Undead campaign: Descent into Darkness

Hi, I just finished DiD and enjoyed it. It's always fun to play the other side and I appreciated the ironic sacrifice that Malin had to make to help his people. Reminds me of some of Gemmell's characters. I like the ending although I feel that its missing a scenario. There should be a BIG battle sce...
