Re: Heir to the Throne: Portraits

Thanks for the quick reply!

Actually I'm not sure what I'll make of that... The name sounds somehow ork-ish, but that couldn't be right?

Re: LordBob's commissionned work

So much going on here :D Congrats on the finished Shaman ! I love his expression-less face! This new version of your style incorporates very few lines, take care that the portraits fit with the rest of our work ;) Troll warrior study : I'm sorry to be a spoil sport, but I really can't see Wesnoth tr...

Re: Heir to the Throne: Portraits

So, I started on Delfador... I can't remeber if Delf had a staff with some kind of special story/appearance or if it should just be a general elder mage kind of staff – I left it blank for this reason just yet. Any input on this question? Zookeper , we only talked about mentoring and mad versions of...

Re: LordBob's commissionned work

Yay for new trolls! I like where this is going a lot, I'm especially glad that the last iteration features larger hands and a smaller head than the first sketch, I think those are really important to make him appear troll-like! Two little suggestions: The dangly things on his head could indicate a b...

Re: Campaign art - Sceptre of Fire

Congratulations on finishing this impressive series!
Simply great work overall – I really have problems picking a favorite portrait (although I'm very partial to your interpretation of the dwarvish characters!)...

Re: Heir to the Throne: Portraits

So... It has been some months but I still plan to finish this series! :D I made some minor revisions on Konrad's and Lisar's Portraits and call all 14 of them finished. Next will be two versions of Delfador and a revision of my old Kalenz portrait. Since I want to keep this efficient I'd appreciate ...

Re: The new Wesnoth logo and the Loyalist sigil

Wow, that looks like a serious improvement! Those shapes look a lot more sophisticated! But on to the crits after the praise ;) : The whole lettering seems somewhat over that place now - kerning-wise as well as concerning the space the individual letters take up. Just squint and you'll notice that t...

Re: Heir to the Throne: Portraits

And Li'Sar again: two new versions, holding the scepter and being glad - now only the defeated one remains, I've got a sketch and hope to paint her sometime this weekend. Probably. Shadowmaster, Sapient: Thanks :D Zookeeper: I'm sorry, now I remember that we already had this conversation. I really h...

Re: Jay's portrait WIP thread

Hi, I'm sorry it took me so long to to reply to your thread! That's not only due to my lack of time but also to my ambivalence towards what you are doing here - as an illustration I really, really liked the very first iteration you posted here, it had a graphical and comedic quality to it that reall...

Re: The new Wesnoth logo and the Loyalist sigil

Thank you for your detailed reply! Those are some quite interesting points! About the style: Ok, so you want to draw a modern interpretation of blackletter. Meaning one with less detail and simpler shapes. To have such a clear statement and vision is great for this kind of endeavor! Of course my pai...

Re: Heir to the Throne: Portraits

Uncleshelby: Honestly I have no idea on how chain mail hoods behave. Perhaps Lordbob will comment on this issue when he stops by again. Shadowmaster, TSI, Jetrel: Thanks :D Groovy: I slightly adjusted the effect - a bit less blue in the red, but I'm not sure about it I liked the more blood-like app...

Re: The new Wesnoth logo and the Loyalist sigil

Nice to see things progressing! I still see some problems with the glyphs which I'd like you to address: - The "T" is unstable, the stem sits a tad too far to the left. Also the curve of the bar isn't very elegant and rather choppy. And note for the stem that you aren't bound to your digit...

Re: Heir to the Throne: Portraits

Oh my, it's been quite a bit longer than I intended last time I was around… But I come with updates :)
Two new variants for confused Konrad plus the human gear version of him with the sceptre. Next one in line are the two glad ones.

Re: Campaign art - Sceptre of Fire

Wow. You obviously leveled up in the last months! I really love everything I'm seeing, so just some nitpicky c&c for the sake of it: Young Alanin's hand seems rather small in comparison to his face. And while the shape of the gambeson is probably right, it creates an unfortunate silhouette resem...

Hey, she's coming along quite nicely! Just one quick note (apart from the issues you mentioned you are already aware of yourself): you know that blonde hair is not yellow?
