I always thought that "Hide and Seek" was meant as a kind of resting scenario where the player can recall a couple units and level them easily. I usually end that level with 5-6 lvl 3 units.

The problem with pitting AIs against each other is that what makes an effective opponent for the AI does not necessarily make an effective opponent for a human. Conversely, what makes an effective opponent for a human does not necessarily make a good opponent for the AI.

As for the huntsman, it's not just about the unit itself. Marksman is an enormous tactical advantage for the entire squad, it allows the army to dislodge units in high defense.
