Thunderers are good for shooting people... in the face. They've got an advantage over poachers in the day time, they're better at hills and mountains, and have better resistances. Simply call your pikemen "Order Pikemen"

Wesnoth has the same named units like that all the time. Spearmen/Goblin Spearmen, Elvish/Dwarvish/Drake Fighter, and that kinda junk.

Now that thugs, footpads, and thieves can level up to 3, there's really no reason for you to not use them extensively.

Sounds like you need to replay the ford level and use more mermen/mermaids on that level and save your groundpounders.

Burners have anti-marksman - they miss constantly when attacking, regardless of defense.

Shamans will miss both shots if slow would have guaranteed that the target won't be able to kill them next turn.

A. 25-1 isn't a very powerful attack at all, considering a mere spearman can do 21 damage (7-3)in a melee without suiciding.

B. Why would this new unit make the game better? What hole in the knalgan or loyalist roster would this unit fill?

Sorceress is better at melting face
Sorceress uses an arcane attack useful against undead and elves
Sorceress has a more reliable ability to slow enemies
Sorceress can advance to level 4

edit: Oh, also, the sorceress has substantially more HP than druids... if that counts for anything.
