Re: Aethaeryn's Maps (0.5 Branch for Wesnoth 1.7.8)
Well, that's unfortunate timing. I've been updating this for 1.16 as of late June.

Re: Hexes May Be Miles Across--But How Many?
In think you are taking it too concretely. Hexes and units are abstract; hexes can represent small parcels of land or large swathes of it, depending on what the map wants to represent. Some maps represent small dungeons, while others may span big parts of continents. It's more abstract than that. T...

Re: Aethaeryn's Maps Revival
I am working on updating my add-ons for 1.12. I'm starting with MoD and then I'll do Era of Tyrants and Aethaeryn's Maps. It's going to take a while and some maps are going to be spun off because I want to make sure that the maps in Aethaeryn's Maps do not require a download to play.

Re: playing the game with ethical principles
I think that zookeeper has the best idea here, in that it's probably best done as a custom scenario/campaign rather than rewriting the mechanics. Most (probably all) of the features to get the desired gameplay style are already possible with WML/Lua, including things like capturing and non-violent s...

Re: Osama Bin Laden is Dead
world hide and seek champion finally lost It's because he used his real name and address for his PSN account. The timing is too suspicious. What the heck is wrong with these people? :augh: That's sick and morbid no matter who it is who was killed. Retributivism is a very common philosophy of justic...

Osama Bin Laden is Dead
Osama Bin Laden is dead and the US has his body. President Obama just gave a speech about it. Apparently bin Laden's body was captured in Pakistan after he died in a firefight with US soldiers. All the news sites are breaking it. I put together some links on the news items as they broke around the I...

Re: Campaign ideas?
Although, I would argue that the Latin, Old English, Klingon and Shaw translations really are devoid of usefulness. Atmosphere. Maybe people want to play a fantasy game in Latin or Old English for the atmosphere of the game. It is, after all a game and the purpose of games is to provide fun, not to...

Why do you jump to conclusions about the meaning of "RL"? Obviously, we're talking circuitry.PeterPorty wrote:RL? What's that 'Real Life' thingy people keep talking about?

Re: Where would one get sprite art made?
Hey! If you make a good sprite, you might want to print it out and put it on a refrigerator. Where would you put it in RL if you didn't have a fridge?PeterPorty wrote:Also, a sprite is something you actually want, as opossed to a refrigerator.

Re: Where would one get sprite art made?
Why people don't actually try to learn spriting instead of asking for sprites is beyond me. That's awesome logic. I need a new refrigerator, while I'm in a learning mood. I should learn how to build one from scratch. The difference is that you pay for a refrigerator. You don't ask for the fridge to...

Re: Temple is finished/Straight castle walls
The temple art looks awesome. It could definitely make a lot of mainline maps a lot better. Definitely amazing work, but something doesn't quite seem right when it's placed with the units. How would it look if you halved the number of pillars? Perhaps that would avoid clashing with the unit art sinc...
