Re: Scenario Review: DiD 12 - Endless Night
Yeah, as someone mentioned I don't think the standard questions apply to this one. Just wanted to mention that this was the best finale to a campaign I've encountered in Wesnoth and possibly ever.

I think the current set-up works best flavour-wise. Comparing a Great Mage to a Sylph is misleading given the lifespan of the two involved. The latter had centuries to perfect their art, the former decades. It is only fitting that the elves had time to master gimmicks such as flight while humans had...

(1) 1.2.6 Hard (2) 9. This is both harder and easier than the preceding level. The true difficulty lies in reaching this far with a decent reserve of units and the gold to hire them, (3) A bit contrived, but simple enough to understand. A tad harder to execute, though. (4) Much of the dialogue was l...

(1) 1.2.6, Hard (2) 9. I would say 10, but after (poorly) emulating santi's approach I had less trouble than during my attempts to be original. (3) Clear (4) I certainly do hope Haldric knows what he's doing. The Ruby of FIre would have been very useful here. (5) Chocobones/Cuttlefish/Saurians. I do...

(1) 1.2.6, Hard (2) 7 - Provided you enter this with enough gold, which can be problematic, not too many hassles. (3) Fine (4) It didn't *feel* like breaking through a vanguard. More like a slogging match. (5) Undead surprises. (6) 3 - A generic battle this far in the game is a bit taxing. Seems lik...

(1) 1.2.6, Hard (2) 7 - The difficulty is mainly psychological. Ie, to accept that you ARE going to take considerable casualties, and push in regardless, rather than trying to hold a defensive line around your keep and risking even greater losses. (3) The dragon comes out by itself, so it's clear en...

(1) 1.2.6, Hard (2) 8 - First time round I couldn't get past it due to lack of gold and high level infantry. Redoing the campaign with that in mind, it's doable. (3) Makes sense, even if you don't know where the trolls actually are. (4) Not really applicable. Guess Haldric and Jessica are too busy f...
