Re: Random numbers in attacks... and idea
Thanks for the link, megane, interesting reading indeed, and coming from the top, none the less. I wander if it would be possible to use to create a HoMM-like attacks like described in this post pt1 http://www.wesnoth.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=293038#p293038 or even better, a skewed probabili...

Re: Random numbers in attacks... and idea
In fact, Dave recently allowed me to do an accuracy mod, which you can play in trunk. It's certainly enjoyable, and, again, basically exactly what you guys say you want, but whether it'll be popular enough to warrant my continued attention remains to be seen. Can you give some more details about wh...

Re: "Fantasy Wars"
I wonder if the units must always fight to the death when they attack another hex, or they can retreat back after the combat animation? From the little I saw, yes, they can retreat and heal and not only in villages. Also, it seems to be unit/squad based, so your hero is one unit, but archers, or sw...

Re: "Fantasy Wars"
It's really a turn-based hexagonal strategy. I haven't played it myself, but heard people using words "like Wesnoth" describing it:) Precisely. Don't get fooled by the 3D look of the characters and terrain. They move and fight on hex tiles, but, as far as I could see, archers can shoot ac...

Re: "Fantasy Wars"
May be, it's "Fantasy General"? Is that "fantasy wars" a board game or a computer game? Are there any resources on the internet? It is a computer game and I got the name right. I have trouble to find information about it too, that's why I ask here. There is a small article in wi...

"Fantasy Wars"
Yesterday I went to a friend's place and he showed me this game. It reminded me of BfW. We didn't spent much time with it, so I wanted to know if somebody on this forum played it and how far the similarities with BfW go?

I would be interested to test a reduced-randomness Wesnoth too, but it looks that it is unlikely to come now.

The list is so long to show you that following the rules is not an exception; it's something that most decent applications do. And the applications which break the rules are usually the games. ;-) And there is a very good reason for this, many users (myself included) refuse to have any data from ga...

Tested on WinME, it worked fine. Was even able to load the savegames from version 1.2.2. :) Took a look inside your archive and had some suggestions, if you wish. I think all the files in Userdata and Userdata/cache are not needed, you may skip the whole directory. This will also preserve userâ€â...

It seems that it is possible to pursue the dark adept, but I completely missed this option. So I wou...

Well, I assumed you meant splitting the campaigns into separate downloads because that is what linux (at least ubuntu) does. Splitting the music (and other stuff) is a good idea, as long as there is still a full download for first-time users or those who have a fast internet connection. Well, I per...

Thank you for the patch, will try it tonight, if have time. For what it worth, I like your approach of a 7-zip compressed archive. It's small and straightforward. Personally I don't install Wesnoth, since it runs just fine when uncompressed and does not use the registry, so your patch suits me just ...
