Re: Conquest 2.0 - on 1.8 server

Hello everyone! I just stopped by to thank the Conquest team for using my Wesnoth map. When I posted it ages ago, it didn't even receive a single comment and I was disheartened to make any more of my own content for the game. I'm happy to see that it has found a home in the excellent Conquest add-on...

Re: Wesnoth Playable Map

Oh hey! After two years, someone finally posted a comment on my map :D I hope you enjoy it, I had a lot of fun making it. I've seen some multiplayer games utilizing it as well (which is what prompted me to check my old thread), I'm happy some people found a use for it. Perhaps I will make an updated...

Re: Thanks. For Everything.

I concur! One of Wesnoth's greatest strengths is that it's absolutely beautiful, on par with professionally developed games in my opinion, and that is due to the efforts of its spectacular artists. Thank you!

Re: Can you recognise...

Is it...

Alpha Centauri?

Or Colonization?

Just two world-scale-random-map-not-civilization Sid Meier games I thought of off the top of my head.

Re: wesnoth map

Actually, I made a Wensoth map some time ago and posted it on the forums. No one commented on it though. :( You may still be able to find it, it was only a few months ago. I'll post it here as soon as I can, which is actually as soon as I have access to my other computer, which may be some time beca...

Re: RIPLIB & the Merfolk Hoplite

Actually, I brought this up a few months ago. People more or less said that the Hoplite was somehow stronger because it had two powerful attacks instead of four weaker ones (even if the four totaled two more damage), and that it didn't violate RIBLIB because it gained the steadfast ability. I still ...

Aethaeryn wrote:EDIT: On Wesnoth, it would probably be underpowered. Kill a level 3 unit and you get 24 xp - that's an insta-promote for most units anyway.
Insta-promote in multiplayer, not a campaign.

Besides, how many level 3s do you see in multiplayer? :P

Then what about Goblin Spearman, eh? (That bit wasn't serious anyway...) Completely OT, but I think it would add flavor to have the name "Goblin Spearman" changed to "Goblin Spearling". (This was originally suggested on the Orbivm forums by either Temuchin Khan or Urs, but I thi...

Also, two of the spearman advancements lose the ranged attack. Missed that one, thanks. ...especially for a unit that one only has 30% to hit. You mean 40%, right? Consider that practically every time one of a unit's attack type changes on levelup that they potentially become worse against certain ...

Space Invader answered your question. RIPLIB only requires that there is a development branch that is strictly superior to the base unit. The Merman Warrior has such a branch in the Triton. I've checked the level ups for the other units, and it seems that the possible advancments for a unit that ca...

But still, I can't imagine anyone who would prefer the Hoplite over the Triton which does 12 more damage, has 8 more health points, and another move point, especially when mermen are used so little. But my main point is, why should its attack become worse ? EDIT: I just noticed, the Triton doesn't g...

Violation of RiPLiB

While playing a survival game last night, I noticed something that seems rather strange when my Merman Warrior leveled up. The Merman Warrior, level 2, does 'melee: 8 - 4' damage for a total of 32. The Merman Hoplite, a level 3 variant of the Warrior, does 'melee: 15 - 2' for a total of 30. Shouldn'...

It may be more interesting if you made it so that a units only has half (or one) move points when holding the flag.
