Re: Den of Thieves 0.2 (multiplayer stealth campaign)
Figured I'd look into Wesnoth again after what feels like a decade... Glad to see you're still making maps!

Re: "Story" or "Trainer" difficulty level for mainline campaigns
You can do all sorts of things if you want to, but they tend to make gameplay less fun.

Re: Add-Ons don't show up in my campaign list
Many of the addons that you downloaded are for multiplayer play, and will be maps for multiplayer (often with all sorts of changes to normal play on the map) or eras for multiplayer, that are full of new units and factions to play as, or a combination of the two. A few of them will be whole multipla...

Re: Are 1vs1 statiscics collected shomewhere?
This data indicates two things that I find a little concerning: The player 1 advantage seems significant in quite a few matchups, and, at least at the 1800 level of games, northerners v. knalgans seems biased towards the northies side. Now, I know that this isn't a lot of data, and there might be va...

Re: Another Newbie with an era question
One of the best ways to learn about era-making is to see a working example. Go to the addons server, download some era, and look at the WML code they've got in your userdata folder. You can probably borrow a lot from them, and what you can't, you should be able to piece together. If you are still ha...

Is there any specific type of tree you're modeling this after? This looks very similar to the white oaks that grow near my house, albeit with denser leaf structure.

Yeah, this looks like it could have some abuse problems, as there doesn't seem to be much use for it except for trolling. Its removal would probably be good.

Oh no! You're onto us!xer wrote:no! Do you not get it? It's all part of an elaborate scheme by the mods, banning innocent people to get them to sign up on the forum to complain, and then hope they become a regular forum user. :p

Re: Icons to define a units traits and resistances
The ankh or 'arkan' idea posted earlier in the thread would make a fair amount of sense as the arcane icon, simply because the same icon appears on the holy water item you can pick up in campaigns.

Re: Wesnoth news
Now that the TOC is taking place, would advertising that fact really have any negative effect? All I can see it doing would be to give some people the information that tournaments do occasionally happen, and perhaps add a few observers to the TOC games.

The thing is, though, the lobby is there for a reason. Too much off-topic nonsense means that it will be hard for other players to arrange games and so on. If you really want to pretend to be pirates online, I'm sure you can find one of the multitude of chat programs out there, and indulge yourselve...

Re: Lvl 2 ideas for wc's and bats
You're right. Campaign development gets helped when people have the option to add in new units. The thing is, they already have that option, and messing up the carefully crafted multiplayer balance just so they don't have to make the units themselves doesn't seem a smart thing to do. I admit, it wou...

large quantities of units with skirmisher, plus l0 units in certain required roles, but perhaps with ambush analogues, so that they'd ZOC the first unit to go into their surrounding hexes, but not units on subsequent turns (until they moved to a hex that wasn't adjacent to an enemy)
