Re: Option in preferences for "Delay Shroud Updates"

I thought I already replied here, but I don't see it now.

Sounds like a very good idea, I make the same error a lot.

Re: I'm a lover not a fighter

I do find it odd that the race name is in the unit name, as this leads to Dwarfish Fighter Dwarf in the sidebar. This seems really awkward. I guess they can't just be called "Fighter" due to name conflicts, but it would be neat if each race would have its own unit names (like Kalifa). Or p...

Re: Extended Era - lastest = x.33.1

Perhaps I don't understand how naming works. You define a list of names, takes little 2-letter chunks of them, figures out what usually comes after what, and then mixes them up. So if there's a name Doremi and another Heresy, it'll see that it can start with He or Do, he or do should both be follow...

Re: How about a BEAST FACTION?

And this is a very old thread. Sometimes you need to use some common sense, it would've been better to make your own thread for a different idea made 3 years later than revive an old one. But then I wouldn't have gotten to see a very different Doc Paterson. It was quite a shock; especially so since...

Re: Extended Era - lastest = x.33.1

I was playing a game with the Kalifa today, and was surprised to see a unit named "Allah". This seems inappropriate for a unit name. Should it be removed from the random name list? Hmm, on looking at the list I don't seem to see "Allah" by itself, though it is included in other n...

Re: All Add-Ons

I sometimes wish there was an option where when accessing for an addon it would tell you if it's already been downloaded or would only have the addons listed that you currently DON"T have. This in particular would be nice. There's a bit of a workaround - look at the list of addons, decide what...

Re: Mouse Wheel Scrolling?

You can probably press the mouse wheel to get the middle-mouse-click effect, which lets you scroll without using keyboard.

Re: Aethaeryn's Maps - Including Fortress Assault & Defense

I really like Fortress Assault, because I prefer to play against AI and defending that is quite different than usual maps. I haven't tried attacking it yet, probably I'd want to control all sides against the one - but that can get tedious, so maybe just steal my "allies"' villages. Is Fort...

Re: No mouse, no touchpad, just good old keyboard ...

But the switch from squares to hexes may make such an interface more problematic, since the directional keys are not as intuitive. This won't be a big deal. Obviously up-down arrows will move North and South, and diagonal can handle ns/ne/sw/se. Many laptop users would prefer not to have to use the...

Nothing really changed except new campaigns, a bit of remixed music and new graphics since 0.8(i think that's the first stable release i've played, but who knows it might be 0.9), there hasn't been any radical change, an veteran who played 0.8 can easily familarize himself with the latest stable ve...

I think that if downloading updates is not easy, you are unfortunately best off to stay with the stable versions. Perhaps get an occasional development version later in the cycle, but only for campaigns and games against the AI (so it doesn't matter if you don't update again for some time).

I think "defeat all enemy leaders" and "death of your leader" are common victory/defeat conditions.

Re: Statistics

I've already mentioned it in another section, but this would be more appropriate place for it. I think it would be quite useful, if "Statistics" menu would show not only total statistiс, of entire campaign, but that of separate scenarios. Or, at least, the last or just finished one. Or th...

I don't see how getting a discription of the unit would help you make a disision, most units are pretty self explanitory. It's not the unit description that would be most useful, it's the explanation for stuff like charge and steadfast, at least for me. This would be especially useful for user-made...
