Re: Ellisae's portrait attempts
It feels somewhat awkward to give criticism this late into the process, when the portrait is all but ready to be included, not least because people with a better eye have looked over and approved of the work. Most likely it'll turn out that I've just been looking at the picture in the wrong way. If ...

Re: Arch Mage / Great Mage Melee-Attack
I'm sort of completely unrelenting on RIPLIB, but two ways of giving him an interesting melee attack without violating the principle would be keeping his current attack as well as his new one, or else giving the attack to the Arch Mage as well. The Silver Mage is something of an unconventional unit,...

Re: Portrait sketches
I have some concerns about the knives strapped to the slayer's body, particularly around the legs. The one strapped to the inside of his thigh looks a bit awkward to use and carry. The one on his buttocks looks even more so, and to me it could be construed as actually sticking into him. And there's ...

Re: Ghastly
What if it walks like a sumo wrestler? That is, hands on thighs and sort of waddling slowly.
Or is that too silly?

Re: Villages should see around themselves
Ah. Yes, I suppose it would give information on a unit's type and team. I suppose it could matter in some very specific cases. If for whatever reason a team vacates their area completely and won't turn around or send anyone back if a village is captured, it means that you would still know what happe...

This would probably be good for hotseats in general, I think.

Re: Make More Mainline Monsters!
I like the idea of a sand worm that burrows through the sand, rendering it invisible. Then it pops out and eats you.

Re: Villages should see around themselves
The thing is, you can still see if an enemy has taken your village by constantly and carefully looking over them and seeing if they fly your flag. There's no need at all to leave a unit there, or do anything that will affect the game in a tangible way. Unless, I suppose, if you're playing it timed, ...

Re: Villages should see around themselves
Something I wouldn't mind is if villages could see themselves. That way, it's more easy to spot your villages on a map (as the light patches) and you wouldn't need to be paranoid and constantly check your villages to make sure that they aren't taken, as the screen would zoom to a village if it was.

Re: Fighting Elves
Well, it seems that attacking him normally is suicide. You could try letting him stay there while you build up a massive army of goblins. He'll hit an upkeep wall, you won't. Also, consider several Assassins (although not more than you can defend, of course) to poison him.

Re: Undead Portraits
Well, as long as it doesn't have to be realistic. Well, I suppose that's what they call artistic license. It does look spookier than if we could see all the way to the back, I agree. Globes of darkness in the eyes always puts people off.

Re: Undead Portraits
Hm. I may be missing something here, but if we can see any of the back of the skull (archer) then why are there two big black circles where we could expect bone? Arrows through the eyes?

Did that make sense? Not entirely, no, but it doesn't really matter, I suppose. I just thought it was odd that sometimes you would do more damage (or at least a higher damage per strike) when you were a lower level, but there are plenty of more obvious violations. It's not really a hard-and-fast ru...
