Re: Conquest Etiquette - Understood Rulls of Playing Conques
I'm not sure that this thread really will enlighten anyone, in my experience it seems that most of the players that play more of the add-ons (particular those such as Conquest) don't tend to be registered on the forums. Even with this list of "proper etiquette" for conquest players, there ...

Re: New 2v2 map: The Cursed Lake
I hope you understand, that as the size of the map decreases, the harder and harder it becomes to balance such a map, even to the point where balance isn't possible. I think this map fits into that category. A couple notes -- - The northeast and southwest are very heavily forested, but I feel this i...

Re: Announcing Elvish Pillager's Popular Demand Era!
Create a series of factions that represent different "usergroups" of wesnothians from the forums. I suppose there are others you could add, but one in particular: A "Developers" faction. All units would resemble a particular developer, if he/she allows, and would have correspondi...

Re: Quick Tournament Signup
The "official" wesnothian tournament, Tournament of Champions, gives a week for each round if I recall correctly. This is due to the diversity of time zones between opponents. However, this was a 1v1 tournament. Getting 4 players to all meet at a certain time, even on a daily basis, is nea...

Re: Wesnoth The Roguelike
Notice that your improved dragon does not have a ranged attack. Would this be problematic, that a unit could throw a spear at it, for instance, and level? I could see a tactic, where you mob with multiple units like that and only lose one from the monster on its upcoming turn.
Just saying.

Re: Thread of the N3T clan
Upon your confessions of loyalty, I anoint the following N3T! elvish sovereign artisticdude sur.nhm As for the debate above: Yes, I think I speak for the majority of N3T members when I say that the winner in any 1v1v1, 2v2v2, etc. usually ends up being the person not involved in any major initial co...

Re: Footpad + ulf v undead, overpowered
From pondering over this matchup, I've determined that a mixup of mostly DA's, a few skeletons for village holders / ulf killers and (maybe) a bat or ghost (maybe even several) seems like the best counter strategy. If he tries to take out any skeleton on a village, even if he succeeds you can fry th...

Re: Footpad + ulf v undead, overpowered
I definitely made some big mistakes in my game, but I am among few that didn't know his strategy before he started. The double bat was due to a misjudge in how far the ghost was away from a certain village and so I felt like I needed to make up for it with that bat; I probably would have been fine l...

Re: Speed of undead units
D&D is not wesnoth though. The developers have chosen their own depictions of the ghoul and walking corpse. Again, this thinking is too concrete- the thought that because D&D depicted their undead in a certain way, that all other games must follow this depiction. Again, wesnoth doesn't need ...

Re: Speed of undead units
I don't really see the point of altering the intended dynamic of undead's limited mobility. It is not unbalancing for them to be slower than other factions as they make up for this with other strengths. To supplement the supposed weakness, in their recruit list they indeed even possess two of the mo...

Re: Winter 2009 - Map Making Contest! UPDATED
Seeing as I snuck into the competition at the last minute, I thought I might as well leave the files for my concept map here. Any help testing would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :) 4p_Chilled_Caves.zip (On a side note, how long do I have to tweak the map? I hate to say this, but a second due date...

Re: How to reduce Player 1 advantage:
While it is great that you are giving your input on your opinions on the balance of some of the mainline maps in regard to P1 advantage, your suggestion solution would complicate things and wouldn't be the best for gameplay. It's fairly confusing to have a village that you should be able to take if ...

Re: Winter 2009 - Map Making Contest!
Are maps due by the end of tomorrow, or by the end of today? I happen to have a completed concept, but I lack the proper time to submit a replay as of today.
