Re: Scenario Review: DiD 12 - Forever and Ever, Amen

(1) What difficulty levels have you played the scenario on? Normal, ver 1.4. (2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) 2/10. Pretty easy. The enemy leader does not recruit much. (3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives? Initially, I thought the restarting of the campaign was a bu...

Re: Scenario Review: THoT 12 - The Underlevels

(1) What difficulty levels have you played the scenario on? Normal. (2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) 6.5/10. Slightly harder than the previous scenarios, but still appropriately challenging. (3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives? Defeat the lich-dwarf. No problem. (4)...

Re: South Guard 6b. The Long March

(1) What difficulty levels and game versions have you played the scenario on? Normal, 1.4 (2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) 9/10. I agree with the previous poster who said this was ridiculously difficult. (3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives? The only thing I remember...

In my humble opinion, there needs to be greater variation among the different levels of units. At a glance, some of them look the same. The best way to do this is, I think, to change the posture. Just adding a cape, or changing a small detail about the helmet is...well, not very effective. If you ex...

regarding goblins

Yeah, the goblin has a strangely twisted posture. Also, it seems to me that he is sitting too high up on the wolf. I'm sure there are various other flaws. Thanks for the advice. Actually, I don't know how to draw a goblin so the mask is convenient. I mean, what resources I can find are quite differe...

I heard this joke about Arnold Shwarzenegger once that he supposedly had the same kind of facial expression for all emotions. If true, all portraits should be based on Arnie's one-face-fits-all neutral expression. Seriously, I think it would not be too difficult to modify 1 basic portrait (with a ne...

Hey, good links! I'm not sure if all of these were historical replicas though, or were just designed to look good (one of the images depicted an eagle-shaped helmet, and it was "adjusted for female figure" -- looks really, really cool nevertheless). Since you mention this, and I hesitate t...

The second one definitely is better, but it doesn't look very menacing (if such was the intention). Maybe a crawling posture might make it look more dynamic.

IMO, the lizard/dino's green is too bright and contrasts too strongly with the overall colour scheme of the others. Therefore, it gives the impression that it somehow doesn't fit.

Perhaps making it into a paler or darker green might be better?

Just a thought...I played around with it a bit while I was waiting for the kettle to boil, don't know if anyone will like it or not. I'm not sure about this colouring, I think it might look better either midnight-blue, or near-white. EDIT: Did it in dark blue and light purple too. The shadow looks ...

Goblin Pillager 500x500 image

Hi y'all. I'm new to Wesnoth. Just wanted to express my enthusiasm for the game by posting something. Since what I have in mind is a drawing, I hope that posting here is appropriate. This image has style and quality issues, I know...but maybe somebody has some ideas for it, maybe not. I welcome styl...

=) Thank you for your 5 minutes' work; I'm a programming dunce and it would've taken me half a day to figure even this out. However, somebody raised a good point about bats (or any other unit with hover) not being able to attack bats-with-hover, and that seems to me to be pretty silly now. Still, I ...

Response (sorry if I'm too long-winded)

1. IMO, Hover wouldn't make bats powerful in the same way that it would gryphons powerful. This is because bats do pretty low damage (not enough to make too much of a difference in most cases). It makes it just slightly more defensive, but not the least any more offensive. Currently, bats might be u...

Increasing viability of Bats, with new Ability: Hover

I've searched the forums for "flying", "flight" and "hover" but did not come across any similar posts; there is one post related to flying units but that is in the developer's section and I can't post there. It's quite possible that I might have missed any though, since...
