Re: site crash

So, my bet would be that maybe forum and mainpage use some hardware acceleration that makes "modern" (or should I say, bloated?) browsers crash. Nothing special compared to the rest of the website. If your browser can manage to cause your computer to crash or hang while rendering our front page the...

That sounds like someone forgot they were writing for the Tips section rather than a code comment. :P

Re: Wesnoth Wiki scope

I seem to have run into a problem. I'm keen to use references, so that articles like Haldric I's are only written to reflect actual in-game canon. However, MediaWiki only offers references as an extension: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Cite Unfortunately, wiki.wesnoth.org doesn't use thi...

I've enlarged the font size
Could you not do that? Styles are supposed to be applied to specific elements as needed, not to the entirety of a page.

All fixed now.

... Except for the add-ons index and units.wesnoth.org. Those will fix themselves over the next few days as they are automatically regenerated.

Re: Shouldn't a STONE CASTLE provide more defense than a wooden palisade?

If you think it should be easy, then put together a changset and submit a PR. You might find it easier for your changes be accepted into the core/mainline game if you get a few years experience on the idea as UMC. To clarify, there’s basically no chance gameplay-impacting changes of that magnitude ...

Re: Shouldn't a STONE CASTLE provide more defense than a wooden palisade?

The gameplay rules are supposed to be simple. The existence of hybrid terrains with different bonuses/penalties to stats depending on worst/best terrain in the same hex (e.g. snowy hills forest) is already such a stretch for the system, complicating things further by altering weapon specials dependi...

Game abstractions (also known as WINR). You'll find this kind of thing in pretty much every strategy game.

Re: After the Storm 0.9.17 [Wesnoth 1.12]

There’s a rather severe bug near the end of the last episode that makes it impossible to finish the campaign right now on 1.14. No ETA for a fix yet, unfortunately, since for most intents and purposes I’m not working on anything Wesnoth-related at this time other than server maintenance. (There’s al...

Re: Cant log in wesnoth official server

I didn’t even realize our rudimentary textboxes accepted line breaks. The resulting display when you have a leading line break is quite interesting, to say the least. (If you don’t want to do the experiment yourself, everything after the leading line break becomes invisible but it’s still there.) Is...

Re: how to switch to desktop version on mobile?

Both Chrome and Firefox on Android have a Desktop option in their menu which among other things results in them pretending the viewport is larger than it actually is. I don’t know about any other browsers or iOS.

You should subscribe to the internationalization mailing list if you haven’t done so already, since that’s where we post announcements relevant to translators including string freeze and release dates.
