Re: If there's two tiles...for example a Village and Water

They should all be worst move/best defense except river fords. Generally, slow movement over terrain is due to "stuff" in the way, and said "stuff" is still present in the cases of double terrain hexes. Similarly, higher defense is usually due to "stuff" in the way prov...

Unable to download 1.4.7

I have been unable to download the new version of BfW, 1.4.7, for several days now. I'm sometimes getting a 404 error, and sometimes the page just seems to sit there without launching the download.

Re: Ladder Site Online...

Next question: is this thread the appropriate place to discuss the design? I'd like to figure out what I'd be getting into before I commit to anything, but I'm not sure if this is the right place to do that. To give an example of what I mean, one of the biggest design decisions I can think of is whe...

Re: Ladder Site Online...

Well, luckily I should have more than 2-3 days to work on it. I'll take a look at it later tonight and see if I can wrap my head around it :) EDIT: It occurs to me I don't know where on the SVN the ladder project is. It doesn't seem to be part of the Wesnoth project, and I don't see it mentioned any...

Re: Ladder Site Online...

How difficult would it be to set up the 2v2 ladder? If the problem is partially a labor one, I'd be willing to help out over the holidays, as I'll have enough free time. I haven't ever really done any web coding, but I know enough about coding in general that I could probably manage via Google.

Re: Interface suggestion

It's not in the hotkey list, if it were I think that would come a lot closer to addressing my suggestion (since then I could remap the hotkey to something usable).

Re: Interface suggestion

I don't even know if I can do that on my computer. I've got a Mac laptop, and I've got to use the fn key to press the home key, which also changes the function of the delete key. I tried it, and it didn't seem to work. In any case, that's kind of an odd way of doing it. Thanks for the help, though!

Interface suggestion

It would be nice to have a command/action that clears a label on a specific hex, rather than having the option of either clearing all labels, or manually deleting the label. Something that would show up in the right-click menu, preferably.

Re: Mouse scrolling in BfW 1.5.6 on Mac OSX

Well, I've got the game maximized (not fullscreen, but it covers everything except the top toolbar), and while I can get it to scroll up and down by putting the cursor in the right range toward the top and bottom of the window, it's finicky and annoying (it goes in fits at times, other times doesn't...

Re: Mouse scrolling in BfW 1.5.6 on Mac OSX

Good point, I'd forgotten about using the scroll wheel  I would still think that having mouse scrolling actually work would be preferable, though.

Mouse scrolling in BfW 1.5.6 on Mac OSX

Mouse scrolling works fine for me in the 1.4 branch, but in 1.5.6, when running in windowed mode, I can't scroll up and down with the mouse (I can move sideways, though). I'm running OSX (10.5.5).

Re: Ladder Site Online...

Is there any interest in a 2v2 ladder? I can verify that I would play (and have a teammate), and I can also verify that there are always people available for non-ladder 2v2s, so I figure there would be some interest in a ladder.

Unofficial Wesnoth 2v2 ladder?

First of all, let me start by apologizing in advance for the possibility of getting someone's knickers in a twist for posting here about the unofficial ladder site, but that site doesn't seem to have a forum and I don't know where else to ask, so here I am. I'm aware that site is unofficial, and I'm...

Re: Can't change resolution to 1900x1200 (v. 1.4.5 Mac OSX)

Well, I'm not sure why the game wouldn't be able to run off the screen a little, but in any case it does seem to support resizing without looking terrible, so that solution works. Thanks!

Re: Can't change resolution to 1900x1200 (v. 1.4.5 Mac OSX)

I tried playing in full screen, and was able to switch to 1900x1200. So that's nice, but I'd really rather not play full screen, because cmd+tab doesn't seem to work for switching windows.
