The question i was trying to ask earlier (though, i admit it wasn't as clear as it should be) is, "How is XP/HP harder to see?" Ohh... With the old graphics you could pretty easily se on a unit how close it was to leveling or how close it was to dying, without holding the mouse over it an...

It's not constructive if you just repeat the same thing over and over without giving details when you're asked for them. Sorry... which details? I must have overlooked the request you're talking about. I'll gladly give details. If it seems I'm repeating the same thing, it's only beause at start I d...

I think it pretty inaccurate to characterize the developers primary focus as primarily on surface bells-n-whistles rather than core strategic gameplay. I didn't say that. You mentioned that 1.2 is not more complex. This is mostly true because we have pretty much the all gameplay features that we wa...

I already have accelerated mode turned on.

The word in bold [sequentially] is the problem. The solution is "concurrently". You should be able to select things, press menu buttons, etc, while the game is animating itself; you can't, right now, but you should be able to. It is really a problem on any computers, because we've written...

Unfortunately, that's not merely a performance problem, but a design/engine bug. Until fight animations, for example, have finished, you can't do anything. Which can get highly annoying, since animations of course shouldn't block anything in most cases. Well... of course your're right. But being a ...

BTW one important thing to note about 1.2 vs. 1.0 is the question: do you mean speed or gamespeed when you say it's slower? The latter deliberatly got slowed down, animations do take more time by design. One should always compare turbo speed on both before stating that 1.2 is so much slower... Game...

Thoughts about 1.2

Ok, I downloaded and compiled 1.2.1 and have played a few games. First... it seems to me the AI is easier to beat nearing too easy. (ok.. maybe I'm just getting better). But worse. The game has become annoyingly slow on my 1.4Gz Pentium M and the new graphics is (although nice) much harder to se XP ...

Legend of Wesmere: Elves last stand and others

Hi, I'm playing this campaign (wesnoth 1.0.2 Ubuntu Dapper) and I enjoy it. There's some good scenarios with good variation. However I've ended up in a situation where Kalenz is needing only 1 XP to advance and since the AI is very reluctant to attack such units this leaves me in a rather special si...

Hmm.. just finished this campaign on medium. (Ubuntu Dapper version) It felt harder than HttT. You can easily build the wrong army and have to start over. Paladins and some of the 3 initial Heavy Inf. are important. Paladins because of the large scenario maps with undead and the HI because they are ...

I give up...

I give up...

The only way I've found to beat this scenario is to make sure you always have a unit which is an easier taget for the orchs than Riko. As soon as he is hit be a troll he becomes more attractive for other trolls to kill.
This will let you win, but will ruin your army.

No fun...

Hmm... weird. It's not that I'm weaker in units. Normally Riko immediatley wanders off towards NE (white?). If I'm lucky I can keep him from damage up there. But in my recent game, white started to requit a lot of lvl1 assassins, which Riko appearently didn't like (wise, since if you get him poisone...

I meant the start position of Riko, if he starts closer to the place where the red side starts it should be easier to follow him. He already starts right next to the keep. But I find it still strange you have somemuch problems with it. If it was in the previous scenario (To the capital) it would be...

How could changing starting locations make the scenario different? The problem is not my troops. The problem is the lose gun allied Dwarf leader "Riko" who seem to totally ignore that he's low on HP and keep seeking out trouble. Once in a while a troll hit him and after 4-5 of those hits h...
