I'm using Ubuntu as well (although Breezy Badger) and I haven't had any similar issues, although I have to admit that I usually don't turn on my speakers.

"it doesn't let me"... what does it say? And what, exactly, did you type?

The cp command doesn't include directories by default (unlike mv), so you would have to add -R if you were doing something like:

cp -R LotR/images/ /usr/share/games/wesnoth/images/

(1) What difficulty levels and game versions have you played the scenario on? medium 1.1.11 (1.2rc1) (2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) 5, although I only got 3 leaders before hitting 25 units. (3) How clear did you find the scenario objectives? Not very clear at all. The 25 unit l...

I have seen that is feasible, but the question is, do you think it is useful? Wouldn't it be more useful to find out what is actually causing the slow-down? Since historical binaries are available on Windows, it should be relatively easy to pin-point the version where the problems were introduced. ...

Either directly from the SVN, as torangan suggested, or you could download the various releases from sourceforge:

Before commencing a massive back-porting effort, it might be worth it to figure out when, exactly, the problems were introduced. Using a standard "divide and conquer" (of course), it should be relatively quick, especially on Windows since historical binaries are available, alliviating the ...

I play on a 700MHz computer with 256MB RAM. Not exactly the quickest of machines... and I certainly noticed a major slow-down from 1.0 to the more recent versions of the game. To be honest, I don't know what exactly is causing the slowdowns (maybe the flags waving in the wind), but I still find the ...

If you compiled Wesnoth on Ubuntu using default instructions, the wesnoth directory is located here: /usr/share/games/wesnoth If you are playing the packaged version available from the Ubuntu repositories (1.0, last I checked), I strongly recommend compiling the latest version (1.1.11 == 1.2rc1). I ...

(1) What difficulty levels and game versions have you played the scenario on? medium 1.1.11 (1.2rc1) (2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) Easy, but annoying. Hard to quantify in a single number. Using the number of times I had to reload as a way of estimating difficulty: 8 (I don't t...

I disagree. A few reloads isn't going to put any real strain on the server, especially since it takes FOREVER for each reload. As for posts in a forum, I can only say that if *my* server went haywire, I'd like for people to post about it (especially seeing as the front page worked). Not only does it...
