Re: No mirror option

I think this is a good idea, though I think it should only generally work for games of <= 4 sides. An alternative would be to have a "Set maximum faction diversity" option or a "Set faction diversity" option activating "a faction diversity slider". The slider could wor...

Re: Guestion about campaign coding

A good editor for MS-Windows is codepad.

Edit: I actually meant textpad (codepad might also be nice, though I've never tried it). Anyway, as xer already indicated, it is never too late to switch to a free operating system.

Re: Skip Replay

Would it significantly help (speedwise) if the replay was set in background (i.e. saving calculations regarding graphics, except of maybe showing the turn number)?

Well you got 105 out of 120 points, thus a B. Though I suppose you know this already ;).

Re: Idea: Allow for player to see enemy attack probabilities

Nice but: To much statistics prevent you from playing the game imho. Indeed. It already feels sometimes as if people we calculating every single move they could make. In some situations this might be appropriate but not always. I see it as part of the game to judge (approximate) risks and moves usi...

Re: Hornshark Island

I took some sparetime to watched the first three turns (after that your replay seems to be broken for some reason). :eng: First of all BfW is a turnbased game. It might be obvious, but it is very important to remember this when talking about game balance. So what does this mean? The first turn of pl...

Re: New Level 0 Unit: Light Cavalrymen

Why not give this unit a spear (which may either be thrown or used in close combat) instead of a lance or an expensive sword?
The attacks could be:

5-2 melee pierce
5-1 ranged pierce

here you are. Alternatively you could also post a replay, thus others can watch it and tell you what you have done wrong.

Re: Wesnoth 1.4 and 1.5 - openSuSE - Data not found

Better do so,

Although being much a fan of another distro, I use rather debian nowadays - especially when I want to be productive. Gentoo rocks - Debian just rocks more ;)

Sorry Noy I didn't mean to step on your feet. I just thought it would be important to note (and probably a good idea to correct) since it is a very interesting post.

Re: Luck in Wesnoth: Rationale

Kreigspiel sounds a bit odd - as the Prussian language was generally German I guess it should be called Kriegsspiel (What just means "war-game"). Though there are lots of links to Kriegspiel and Kreigspiel around. :eng: So why Kriegsspiel? Well, it is a combination of the two words "K...

Re: Luck in Wesnoth: Rationale

Hi Dave, having sth. like that in the wiki would definetly be cool. You mentionend the word risk(probability). Which is a much better expression than luck or at least a good analogy. Seeing it pessimistic, everything you do is a risk - in wesnoth (e.g. attacking a unit / not attacking a unit) or in ...
