Re: The Archive of HODOR

Actually a random vs. random, but when I saw I was knalgans with a rogue leader I decided to try out a hodor style. So, here's a casual hodorism game. I'm pretty new to multiplayer so constructive criticism would be nice. I started off with just thieves and footpads, but when I say drakes I figured ...

Wesnoth 1.6.2 text bug

I seem to be having a bit of a problem with the text with the windows version (1.6.2). It may just be an error on my part, but I thought I'd mention it. Under the multiplayer, add-ons, and language menus and with the text that appears during campaigns (not the intro text though), all that appears ar...

A little specific, but in the skirmisher description, maybe saying "...as they can easily navigate..." rather than just "...as they can navigate..." Also, and this is more of an opinion thing, I personally don't think the last Flanker sentence is needed, but that doesn't mean it should be taken out....

I'm not much of an artist, but I do enjoy reading the art forums. Anyhow, have you considered making standing animations for terrain? It might be another interesting way to make the game seem more dynamic.

Just my two cents.

Hm, getting leadership early isn't any better than getting tougher 3rd level unit. Sure it is. I don't want my leader out on the front lines getting beaten up, I'd prefer it screened by lovely lvl 1 (or 2) units that it can give leadership too (and still be useful). That being said, IMO, the curren...

I'm not much of an artist, but it also seems to be slanting to the right -- maybe make sure the towers on the wall are exactly vertical (unless the wall is slanting or something)

Of course, this doesn't have anything to do with landscape coloration -- I'm afraid I don't have much advice there.

I think it is a great idea. It would be extremely useful if one went to a library or something or was just in a random place with a computer and wanted to play Wesnoth

Well I think magic from a LOTR standpoint as a few points: there is a "mages" (or wizards or whatever) with 5 members including Gandalf and Saruman. Other races can use magic to a limited extent (Dwarvish runes, I believe Glorfindel used some sort of magic against the Black Riders, elves use their s...

I'll take my elvish champion in a village on Dwarven Doors and watch him smack down every unit that tries to attack him.

Jolly fun!

I would totally agree with how the paladin destroys undead. I was just playing the Valley of the Dead (or whatever it's called) from HttT and when I left my paladin out in the open near the southern keep, the AI threw multiple skeleton's at it during the night, all of which died. This was unfortunat...

This might be irrelevent since it was version 1.0.2 and a lot of the things I read don't seem to exist (trident, recalls, merman priestesses, etc.) Anyhow: 1) hard 2) 7 if just surviving, 9.5 if trying to kill both liches 3) clear 4) it was fine 5)keeping moremiru and ulurf (sp?) alive at the very b...

Oh, I forgot to say that if you recruit the merman on the northenmost hex, it can make it to the river in the same amount of time a EF would recruited on the next turn (or something like that).

I'm in the middle of this one on hard (version 1.0.2). After finally managing to beat both leaders in Isle of the Damned, I must say the extra loyal white mage makes this scenario fairly easy (so far). Also, I usually only recruit the one merman warrior with the storm trident. After only playing thi...
