Re: Guide on designing standard factions/eras
Too often, I have seen some newcomer to faction design come around with his very own genial concept of a faction (tm), and it ends being a very bland faction, because "this faction needs a scout, a melee unit, an archer, a mage, a tank, a healer and a leader". The marked sentence is exage...

Re: Post your favorite boardgame!
Phases end when the pot is empty of words, then words are counted, scored and put back in the pot for the next phase. It's a pretty fun game. We had no name for it, but a friend decided it would be named fou de bassan  This game is definitely a lot of fun! I'm used to the name Time's up! which...

Re: Youtube reviews Wesnoth!
Did I hear correctly "wesnoth has a lot of content, maybe not a lot of depth" ? Because the same could be retorted to low-cost journalism.

Re: Balance Ideas (Unit Changes)
3. Reduce attacks to 5-3 The last one is a pretty big change but the unit would still be very good as a scout and a defender but without the possibility of getting 9-3 at day you'd need to buy other units to attack. Agreed that the 9-3 strong ones are part of the problem...I've started thinking of ...

It rather said "defense 40%" which is then 60% chance to hit.kiraice wrote:If I didn't read this wrong, it said two facts beforehand:
1. hit chance 40%
2. hit twice

Re: Project : New Ladder
Quetzalcoatl and me have been thinking about making a new wesnoth ladder. That new ladder would include new features and also be more maintainable than the current one. Why not modifying the existing ladder instead of creating a new one ? Please bear with my ignorance on the ladder things, but amon...

Re: mysterious campaign in wiki [split from campaign order]
Yeah. The only bits in that History file that is not from a mainline campaign is the stuff about Meneldur taking back Elesenfar from the orcs, which was from an add-on by turin, I believe. There are more than 300 years from the end of "Legend of Wesmere" (50 YW) to "A Tale of Two Bro...

Re: Give these Units a Chance
Joining the choir. The sergeant line combat skills and survivability are purposedly low, to make up for its awesome combination of good movement and leadership ability. This line used to be more potent in the fighting field, but at some point, in the competitive multiplayer microcosm, it became obvi...

Re: Thank you from a new player
Same here, in fact. I random'd my first game and got Drakes versus Loyalists. God, that was hard. I think I really fell for this game when I still won that matchup despite the mess of piercing damage they had by flanking the crap out of my opponent and villageharassing him while alternating Saurian...

Re: Force Loyal Question
In case there's a confusion, the 'silent' key within the [object] tag is not related to the fact that 'loyal' is not displayed to the player. If you want to display additional traits' name and description to the user, you have to write them into the appropriate variables. These variables are my_unit...

A shopping trolley racing game, micro machine-like view, where you would grab the edge of the trolley thanks to the mouse, in order to motion it. Would love to see that on the Wii, Mr. Nintendo, if you read this.

You put a " at the beginning of the map_data key, but not at the end (after the terrain text).

Krotop, if you're reading: what is the UNIT_VARIABLE variable for in the paralysis special that's attached above? I don't know how to use the special otherwise... You are refering to lines that are concerning a WML tool, a macro refered to in the actual special which is WEAPON_SPECIAL_PARALYSE. Thi...
