Re: On what version did you first play Wesnoth?

How can I be expected to remember? I believe it was before 0.4.4, and after 0.3.4 In the line of other posts here about features remembered: There were several entire races that hadn't been made or even envisioned yet (Drakes, Saurians, etc), or had only a single unit (Merfolk, etc). There was no co...

One really has to do more now in order to attract praise; just finishing on hard with no losses isn't enough. How about trying to restrict your unit choices as well? Finishing on hard with no losses using only mages or magic units would be impressive, for example, and even in that case I believe som...

I apologise for my responding to this after so long a period, but as the suggested course of action has apparently not been carried out, I thought that adding information about the situation would be useful. Bugmenot is not meant to provide user names for forums that do not require registration for ...

Personally, I've been considering making a post complaining that Hard is too easy in HttT. I've been running through on hard recently, and haven't had any trouble with the exception of VoD, where it took me a few tries to be able to kill all three leaders. Yet I am by no means a good player, and on ...

With meatshields, the scenario is extremely easy. That's the whole point of using only mages.

Siege of Elensefar (with mages, on medium)

I decided for some reason to try playing SoE without using any units except mages. This was partially as an attempt to do something strange with the mainline campaigns, and partially a plan to post a new SoE thread, to show that not all new SoE threads are redundant. Unfortunately, having not planne...

I wouldn't try to go after the orcs. Instead, (like I said before) go after the undead. Why? Well, for one thing, you won't have the problem of having enemies sneaking up on your back, which apparently is happening. You can easily block the orcs from coming after you by sending a few units to block...

Topic title is wrong. The scenario is way too easy, I'd like some more ambushes which directly block your way. I agree. With the current scenario, on medium, I am hard pressed to find more than three or four ambushes, even though I intentionally search for them. They never present a challenge to me...

But with more elaborate units, especially those with multiple damage type, it's not always like that. A dwarven lord or a drake gladiator not only has several attacks but also several damage type. I happen not to know by heart the different resistance of each unit. Typical case is with the dwarven ...

1) Medium, 1.1.5 2) 5 (11 to defeat all enemy leaders) 3) It isn't quite clear as to exactly where you need to be at the end of turns. 4) The dialog isn't that great. As others have noticed, Li'sar's dialog often is awkward, since players do different things. Konrad's disposable bit is also awkward,...

Explanatory Comments: I can beat this scenario easily in 9 turns. But to get the sword, I have to wait for another 9 turns while Konrad moves along at 2 hexes per turn, while doing nothing - the enemy only has two units after the 8th turn or so - I can kill off the non-leader rather easily, since I ...

 you manage to train 4 silver mages? How can you have enough decent units to protect all those mages while they are leveling up? Are you playing on hard? lol I was planning to get more captains and avenger. Unfortunately, my experienced units come with quick trait quite often, so I need to m...

I see that you have put considerable thought into the story - I had expected that might be the case since the story seemed to fit together, but just didn't have enough information. Improving that should give a significant boost to the campaign as a whole. As for the mages, there are a few things you...

I played through this on medium. The primary problem that I see is that the story is very fragmented and confusing, and the scenarios are boring. Apart from the initial explanation, very little is explained about the story - in most cases, I don't even know why I am fighting in a particular situatio...

It sounds like a major part of your problem is using Avengers as heavy ranged units. Avengers are actually very weak ranged units, and are further hurt by having neither marksman nor magical. Red mages or marksmen can usually do more ranged damage than Avengers because of the chance to hit - on 50% ...
