Re: Levelling up units
This is most certainly the case in multiplayer however. It can be an acceptable strategy to attack an enemy unit close to levelling up in the hopes that it will randomly level it into the unit your foe DOESN'T want it to be. This can of course backfire horribly if it does still level into the unit ...

Re: Invasion from the Unknown
A question: just finished episode 1 of IftU. Did anyone manage to kill the Chaos Warlord thing in "Meet your Fate" ? I managed to get him down to about half HP and kill all the northern Shaxtal and all of the green Imp's minions - except him, with his Drain... You mean the one where you'v...

Re: Common Sense Compendium: Now with more General Advice
Especially Drake players should be wary about their leaders - sure, they're fast and hit like a freight train, but two spearmen or dark adepts can bring them down from full health to dead in one go.

Re: How do you lure leaders out of their keeps?
The funny thing is, the orc had no real way of knowing the ghosts were there, given the fact that the river is deep water...
(another funny thing: whether you can see over a narrow stream depend on how deep it is)...

Ah, new faction. Sweet. Send me a PM if you need the flavor text and fluff on some unit.

Re: Why people consider undead to be underpowered?
The Wraith gets actually a rather nice 40% increase in HP over the ghost, and his drain is rather brutal...
But yes, I'd level Dark Adepts preferrably - thay also happen to be easy to feed kills to.

Usually, you shoot with the thunderer, and if he hits, you act on the opportunity, if not, then you have a backup plan.

Well, the algorithm that chooses which attack to use can't obviously factor in strategy and nearby enemies.

Re: Nagas or Merfolks?
Naga also get a better movetype, especially on later levels, with decent defenses even on land. Merfolk are water-bound.
As for water scenarios: why not make a campaign where you play both naga AND merfolk on one side? That would be great.

Re: Era of Guilds (need feedback) now in Wesnoth 1.6.5
Well, except for the summoner faction, none of them are new; the changes made are cosmetic, and I don't get what this has to set it apart from default, sorry.

:-/ Knalgans too have a problem with dodgy units on low terrain. Just, until now they had some chance (35%) that the fighter on the mountain would stay there unpoisoned after an assassin's attack. The bugger is too reliable now.

I guess the reason for giving the Northerners' Assassins 'Marksman' was also held on IRC or such - anyone knows why the already unpleasant [censored] was boosted so much?
