Re: Khalifate Unit Naming

I always disliked the [species] Fighter/Archer/Warrior naming scheme, so in the norwegian unit tree (badly in need of a new maintainer), I gave each unit a unique name, the dwarves fairly norse themed, the nagas indian sounding names, the elves "tree-inspired" etc.

Re: Kitty's Merfolk: Merman Netcaster

Great portrait - I really like his moustache and face expression on a whole. I hope the net on his left hip will stand more out abit more in the final version - on one hand I think it works fine that the club is the focal weapon in the image, and that you have to look abit more around for the net &q...

Re: Dragon sprite

Great work on the dragon, both portrait and sprite.
Should the dragon have cross shaped pupils, like TSI's drakes do?

Frontpage Portrait List - DA

This is a minor suggestion - maybe am I the only one who feels this way: Remove the Dark Adepts of both sexes from the list of portraits shown at random on the Wesnoth frontpage. The reason is not that it is a bad portrait, but that it simply is too good at what it is trying to show - some lucky Dor...

Re: Looking for criticism on Fall of Wesnoth story and dialog.

Between 673 and 955 YW, the Kingdom was wracked by famine and civil wars... Here I think the exact pinning of the time interval of strife seems abit immersion breaking. Would it be possible to rewrite it to something like: For a period of close to three centuries, the Kingdom was wracked by famine ...

Re: Kitty's Merfolk: Hoplite

Sorry, I meant his left arm, our right (when we sit infront of the computer). Probably nothing to worry about.
EDIT: I also think it is much less noticeable in the last version.

Re: Kitty's Merfolk: Hoplite

This may be only my myopic eyesight, and nothing to care about in an otherwise great portrait, but I have a feeling that his left arm is somewhat smaller than the other, even after counting in foreshortening and perspective. I dont know enough about the portrait process to say if this is a small fix...

Re: Goblin poetry - Work in Progress

Oh, the subtle use of punctuation in that marching hymn!
Was it Oscar Wilde that, when asked what his day's work had been like, replied that he had edited a comma into a poem, then, after long and agonizing pondering, removed it again?

Re: Outlaws! New: Footpad

Looks quite abit like Michelangelo's David.
Did you do that on purpose? His right arm looks much better now.
(Except your footpad looks more like he's resting his weight on his left foot, while David is clearly resting on his right - too bad your character is waist cropped :-)

Re: Aleksi's Battle music for piano

Yes, I can see what you mean by marking that passage as difficult! I can not say anything in praise beyond the fact I was sure it was a "techno-job" :-) This is far above my clavier-skills, though, so I'll keep to the good old well-tempered in half (or quart) timestamp. Of course, there ar...

Re: Aleksi's Battle music for piano

Haha, great job - both Aleksi and Tyler! Now that you say it I can absolutely hear Shostakovich in this - this track is definately the one that to me screams Wesnoth the most - and puts me in a pavlovian state of MP - attack with that adept already, my ulf is waiting! Anyway, I assume this mp3 is ma...
