Re: Campaign recall lists

Yes, but I meant what types of units would be useful overall. I see that playing style is important, but a list would guide my promotes in the right direction. Also, instead of actual amounts, I meant approximate ratios, ie, for me, one grand knight for every paladin in tRoW, only grand knights aft...

Re: Campaign recall lists

Ah yes I see that now, but I was referring to other campaigns. For instance, whether rangers or marksmen are more useful in HttT, how many levelled archers compared to fighters, etc. Yes the wiki does this, but it does not recommend a certain amount of which unit. So I go levelling whatever seems t...

It seems as though you'll need a meatshield vs Orcs no matter what in order to avoid losses.

Will my 1.17 save work with 1.18 or do I have to restart the entire campaign?

Sorry about thread placement, I assumed I was doing something wrong, not that it was a technical error.

Konrad can't pickup the Sword of Flame

Says only the leader of an Army can pick it up. Tried Lisar (or however her name is spelled) as well, she couldn't grab it either.

Using 1.17

Right. This is the sort of thing that a 'decent' player knows. (Actually the cited example is something that anyone who has played almost any fantasy RPG knows. ;) ). If it was easy to cite simple rules that 'great' players know, then it would be easy to be a great player. That's why most experienc...

Alfred Hitchcock had the following explanation of Shock vs. Suspense. Shock is when a bomb goes off out of nowhere. Suspense is when you see the bomb under the table ticking. Shock is not usually good level design. Shock just makes players go "WTF?", pisses them off, and makes them inclined to quit...

"Free For Alls" are pretty common amongest the entire spectrum of games =/

It's just a game. Maybe if you just obsess over victory and therefore 1) Play chicken to win and 2) then feel bad when you lose, but for most of us, we just like to play =/

I also play 3v3v3's, 2v2v2v2's, 1v1v1v1's, etc, etc

I think giving the Shadow (and by extension the Nightgaunt) cold makes sense since it is so rarely used. The only question is whether cold + backstab would totally imbalance some things.

However, I concur with Ranger M's comment about upgrading the site info. Don't you think most new users would prefer to get a feel for how they select and start a new scenario or campaign before 'getting their feet wet'? Unfourtantly, that's completely incorrect. It's far more likely that 90% of th...

Re: Simple Questions by a Newbie

First, what does the initial selection screen look like? How does one choose a scenario or campaign to play? Does the game actually include any scenarios or campaigns at all? This question arises because the manual only describes playing online or what is called 'skirmish' mode in other games and h...

Actually, lots of people want this kind of thing. In fact, it's on the top of our "most wanted, but difficult to implement" features, and has been so for about a year. Once we get code support for it, I think there will be quite a few such campaigns popping up. David Ok, I see, thank you. I figured...

Co-op campaign

I was a little confused about where to ask this, but are there no co-op campaigns for Wesnoth? I looked at the list here http://www.wesnoth.org/wiki/UserScenarios and didn't see any that were labelled "co-op" but, then, they weren't specified single-player either. Are there no co-op Campaigns? Are t...
