Re: randomly choose map
Um, just put the mouse on the scrollbar in the map window, left click and close your eyes. Now, move the mouse up and down and let go of the mouse button. Still with your eyes closed, move the mouse slightly to the left. Open your eyes and you will discover the mouse pointer hovering over a random m...

Steadfast / Orocia bug
While playing 'Total Orocia' I got a steadfast unit (Ageless Era - Summoners - Earth Avatar) up to 60% resistance for some things. It's resistances for the category are listed in the popup as 60%/50%. I understand that steadfast is capped at 50% for doubling, but shouldn't that be ignored when the r...

Re: Why does the Silver Mage use fire?
Silver mages are already very powerful, against most unit types, just because of teleportation, plus their resistances, and quick retreat ability. The only drawback to using them is they don't gain any benefit from extra experience (other than the occasional 3hp). I've had as many as 5 in a campaign...

Re: What is your favorite campaign?
UtBS, the first time I played it it was complete, but since then seems to have been in revision more often than not. I'm just about to fire up 1.6.4, I hope the campaign is complete and working now!

Re: This is a Great, Great, Game.
This IS a great game, probably the best I've played in terms of both AI and quality of opponents available for MP. The only thing that bugs me about the AI is how vicious it is in nailing your about to level units. It's supposed to make it tougher, it definitely makes me cry sometimes... but it is o...

Re: How did you find out about Wesnoth?
The first strategy game I played on *nix (besides 'trek') was xconq. After installing this and playing a while and realizing the AI was absolutely terrible, I looked for a decent strategy game that wouldn't require me to boot to windows or dos. Wesnoth has the best AI of any of the strategy games I'...

Re: On what version did you first play Wesnoth?
0.9.7 I think. I vaguely remember trying out an earlier version and not really getting into the game at that point, but when I tried out the 0.9, it was really good and I played a lot for a while after that. Haven't played for like a year now, when I tried to build 1.6a it failed on my computer so I...

Re: Scenario Review: (UTBS) 6.1 In the Tunnels of the Trolls
(1) What difficulty levels and game versions have you played the scenario on? 1.1.2 + svn (2) How difficult did you find the scenario? (1-10) 5. Would probably be easier if I played the campaign again because I'd know to have 2 shyde by this time, which I didn't. (3) How clear did you find the scena...

I found the escorts seem to be rather scared of desert horsemen. I put a couple up by them to block the road with ZOC, and was expecting a fight but the messenger's group split up and didn't attack. The messenger headed back into a village near town! To be fair, there were a couple level 2 elves in ...

Some wargames I've played have leadership effects that extend out several hexes in each direction. There was a Napoleonic wars series that had leaders effect up to 14 hexes away (for Napoleon). Not saying BfW should implement this, just that the adjacent only leadership effect is underpowered compar...
