Re: Return of the fencer, part deux

this skin behind his hair should look darker, there needs to be some kind of hard shadow where the hair is blocking the backlight (even if it's very very small)

correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you just tell the forums to e-mail you when this thread gets posted in, and then set your e-mail client up to tell you in a pop-up when you get new mail? anyway, 1022: You consider working on your wesnoth campaign instead of doing your coursework that's in for, wel...

Re: Corvvs' Thread of Ill-Fated Portraits: Merman Hunter

you lightsources are all over the place, the metal suggests something off to the right about on level, maybe slightly above. the skin on the torso suggests something slightly less to the right, and down a little.

Aside from that looking good.

Re: IoA - Newest Portrait: Matt and Tom

1) Actual ropes or mystic ropes? They look real, which makes little sense. They need to be dematerialized. :P Easy enough to do, they're on a seperate layer 2) The guy on the left has some serious anatomy issues; the visible elbow is way too big, and the arm gripping the sword looks squished horizo...

Re: IoA - Newest Portrait: Matt and Tom

Aaaah :augh: , this got to the second page, must post to put it back on the first :P On a more serious not, I just realised that I hadn't submitted these guys for C and C yet and it would be better to catch any issues early, so here they are. I've drawn Matt and Tom in the same picture just for ease...

Re: thespaceinvader's portraits - current, Dwarves

I can't help thinking that the hind legs of the gryphon should be shorter. In fact all of it's legs should be shorter, but it's hind legs slightly more, and then the entire body should be scaled up. but that might just be my opinion of what a gryphon looks like showing through, anyone else agree wit...

Re: Portrait sketches

Much better, there's only one blaring issue that I see straight away, and that's the arm shadow. Either: the shoulder pad should cast more of a shadow, and the arm's shadow should be going more vertically down the body Or: the curve of the body needs to affect the arm's shadow more, it shouldn't go...

Re: Explosion Icon

Also it's way way too dark, use the lightest colours that you can

EDIT: to clarify, I mean that the lightest colour you use should be the lightest colour you can produce in GIMP (you use GIMP I think, don't you?)

*spends a moment starting* *spends another* Wow Ok, I now have to draw something with more bling than this girl :P , it just needs to be done (unfortunately bandits don't get bling, so it'll have to wait till all of the main chars portraits are done) As for crits... There's just one thing, the left ...

I believe that the original problem was with the thickness of the belt buckle, not the belt itself. I think that it would still benefit from having this made thicker, although it's probably satisfactory as is.

I would suggest either shifting his shoulders right, or his front legs left, because as the moment it seems like he's leaning very far left.

Re: Campaign: Invasion of Arendia

Ok, here's the problem. I currently don't have Wesnoth on a computer that has online access so I have to download everything then move it to the other computer. However when I unzip the IE folder like 100000 errors come up and so it wont work. that's odd :hmm: ... and unfortunately not something I ...

also with his hair , it's curving towards the top of his head when it really should be continuing around the head (even moving down a little from our perspective ).
