That interface doesn't look bad at all IMHO. But then I generally don't care much for fancy graphics... Anyway, if you want to get help for this project I suggest making it cross-platform. Sure, most users use Windows, but linux is very common among Open Source developers. Edit: I just noticed that ...

I think that whether or not the image was copied digitally or drawn from memory (copied manually) is totally irrelevant. It's a copy either way, and just as illegal.

I also find this feature very annoying. I played some mulitplayer games with my brothers a while back and we all assumed it was a bug when we couldn't find out what our units would level up to. What if you add a checkbox in the options which allows you to turn this feature off? That way every one ca...

Yeah, that's almost as bad as, say, giving all units of a faction flying...

I also like this idea very much. Actually I'm a bit surprised that this isn't how it is now.

UFO: Alien Invasion is a very good game in the style of UFO: Enemy Unknown with modern 3d graphics. A great turn-based tactical simulation. Unfortunately it was never completed (and perhaps never will), but the latest beta version, the so-called Christmas Special , is nevertheless quite entertainin...

Then the problem is that people don't bother to read the provided information, not that the information is missing. Certainly. I never said the information was missing. However, that doesn't mean we shouldn't try to make the information more visible. As it is now we are bound to get these complaint...

Yes, but most people won't click on those links. They will simply click the Windows (1.1) link and go directly to download.

As was said a couple of times before, this is a development version. I think the main problem here is that most people who aren't programmers don't understand what 'development' version means. When a user looks at the front page he sees two options: Wesnoth 1.0.2 or Wesnoth 1.1.1. Most people will ...

Because RIPLIB. I think you have either misunderstood RIPLIB or my suggestion. Losing leadership on levelup does not violate RIPLIB as long as there is an alternative level-up option that does not lose leadership . The Healing Chef is an alternative level-up option to the Master Chef, and therefore...

There are several other units that lose abilities on some level up choices. I don't see why that is a problem as long as there is a choice where they don't. Examples: Elsvish Shaman and the Pikeman.

Another option is to use the five classical elements (fire, earth, wind, water, aether) but I'm not sure if that many types are wanted. Well, the immediate problem with this is...what the heck is "earth damage"? Crushing someone with a big rock? I think we already have several sorts of this sort of...

Ah, now that you mention cooking... I really think they should have a Chef unit. Leadership would be a good ability to represent his effect on the morale of nearby halfling units. Could branch into a healer type. He would have two attacks: Meat Cleaver: Melee/Slashing Scalding Soup: Ranged/Fire (oka...

I think that Light Energy and Dark/Shadow Energy is the best proposal so far. Alternatively we could use Lawful and Chaotic as energy types. Fire and Cold are okay as they are IMHO. Another option is to use the five classical elements (fire, earth, wind, water, aether) but I'm not sure if that many ...

I'm not sure that they should have an entire faction for themselves. They could be part of a human faction. Or perhaps together with gnomes (or whatever they will be called) if that race gets made. While Wesnoth generally uses the Tolkien stereotypes for the other races I don't think we necessarily ...
