New ability: Swap teleport
The unit may swap places with any other unit on the battlefield of the same player. Swapping costs 1MP for the swapper and nothing for the swapee (possible to swap with a unit that has finished its turn), but a unit with the 'swap teleport' ability can only do it once per turn. To do a swap, you jus...

Re: Campaign: Raajal
It crashes on the first puzzle, and seems to do so randomly whenever I make a move. Sorry, but "make a move" is a bit ambiguous. Do the crashes occur after you move Randalf or after you attack a spider? Either. Whenever I tell Randalf to do anything, there's a chance it will crash the game.

Board game: "Order"
This is a game I made some years ago (originally devised when I was about 16 I think). I'm fairly happy with it overall, but the rules aren't presented in a very friendly way, and there are some aspects that are still a mess (rule 9 especially :( ). Unfortunately, I never had much chance to playtest...

Re: Strategic Freedom
Go is interesting in this respect. On the one hand it's very freeform early on; on the other, when a fight gets going in a particular region, making just one move that doesn't contribute to that fight will often automatically cause you to lose a cluster of stones in the first region unless your move...

It crashes on the first puzzle, and seems to do so randomly whenever I make a move. As for making Raajal strong, you don't have a choice in the first mission. The second mission with him - yes, that would have been helpful to know, as you don't really need to harvest any more souls to grind the witc...

Re: Campaign: Raajal
Which are the last 3 missions? I'm on the one with 3 puzzles, and it keeps crashing. Other than that, it's been fun so far but the difficulty is quite variable. I know Raajal is meant to be super-powerful, but the shadow army business just makes it all too easy to win with him.

Neglected promotion paths
Some units have promotion paths such that some reach level 2 and the others reach level 3. But in some cases, I can't really see myself ever following those that finish at level 2 - not just because they finish there, but because the unit you get at the end isn't what I'd want. In particular: when w...

Difficulty levels and unit advancement
From what I've seen there are a lot of people who feel 'easy' is not really that easy on the official campaigns. Then there are others who look at easy and think it's so unbelievably easy that they can't understand what the fuss is about. Well, it's clear that there's one thing which separates the m...

Quality versus quantity in campaigns
So far, I've been trying to buy enough units that I can hold a solid line on at least one front (even when battered units start pulling back to get healed up), and enough cannon fodder that I can use my upgraded units pretty much when and where I please (rather than being forced to use them to hold ...

There's one thing that's not going to change, however much you mod Wesnoth: units take up a lot of space on the battlefield. This means you can hold territory, have a front line, and so on, and it also limits the concentration of firepower that can be brought on a single target. The trouble is, this...
