No it doesn't, and no it isn't. It's popular because it's small and people expect it to be quick, but it's nowhere near as balanced or complex as Clash, let alone Hamlets, Loris etc.

About the "pretty balanced...."

What are you basing that on?

I could be mistaken (because I haven't checked every tile), but I think that the version of Weldyn Channel in 1.3.12 has rotational symmetry. It doesn't, but the more "significant" areas do. If you take a look at the terrain clusters on the very top and bottom of the map, as well as in th...

Wouldn't that be a reason not to join? Nope. If it had been a free for all they would have all attacked me at the same time and it would have been 1v8.Much higher odds You said "I think I need FFA challenges." Am I missing something? Doesn't the n3t disallow FFA challenges? Doesn't it als...

For those looking to improve their Drake v. Loyalist skills, file these under "things not to do." In the first match, carlos decides to compete with water units on the central Weldyn Channel (Blitz) island. In the second, he puts a bunch of units on bad terrain in an attempt to kill one sp...

Hello JW In Drake x Undead, I think you underestimated the power of the Glider. They are (relatively) cheap, can melee Dark Adepts and its fire attack is superior to the Fighter because of marksmanship. They are somehow efficient ghost killer since they ignore the ghost natural evasion and fire is ...

I think some match ups are skewed... Loyalists have a easy time versus Drakes (Spearmen + Horsemen) Drakes have a easy time versus Northerers (Burner + Leadership + Wings) Undead have a easy time versus Drakes (Dark Adepts + Ghosts) Of all these, I think Loyalists x Drakes is the worst. It's hard t...

Re: Replays

I really enjoyed that Silverhead replay. I did not see the end coming until it was imminent. A very dynamic style of play. I'm thinking that the existence of multiple keeps on Silverhead enables some strategies that can really "spice up" the game, like the quasi-mobile warfare that Gallif...

Maybe the meandering river could be split in two rivers travelling in opposite directions, each with contributing rivulets, by adding some landhexes in the centre of the map? Not very likely, but as always, if you want to mod a map and send it to me, I'll review and consider it. <Brainstorm> new na...

One of the reasons I quit Wesnoth development was because I'd have to deal with him. Right, so you weren't fired, you quit. Good to know. I didn't realize to do so I'd have to build a political base among Wesnoth developers or become a forum warrior. All I wanted to do was make fun maps, I was neve...
