Trick to make Wesnoth work with Composite

I know a few users have had issues with this, and I didn't see any solutions posted, so I thought I'd share my success. I wasn't sure exactly which forum to post this under, as I'm not asking for technical support. SDL applications currently don't display currectly when using a Composite manager (I ...

I like it. I often end up trying to find the boundary for a certain number of moves, and currently the only way to do that is backtrack until you find it.

Maybe it would look better if some of the reeds overlapped or weren't straight up?

Converting C++ to Java is sort of hard to compare, as it would really have to be a rewrite. However, if you did manage to convert it, you'd need to distribute any changes you made to the C++ files as well, yes. No. You need to distribute the source to the work you're distributing. If you're distrib...

You've drawn a conclusion but I do not see any argument supporting it. Perhaps you could clarify? To my knowledge the GPL requires you to distribute the source only for what you are distributing. If I make a derivative work, I need distribute the source only to that derivative work, not to the orig...

IMHO, it should be interpreted like this; when someone contributes artwork to Wesnoth, they not only distribute it under the GPL, but they give us the copyright to the work. That would eliminate any problems with them coming back 5 years later and suing us, since when they gave us the copyright the...

Congratulations on 1.0, and a big congratulations on your baby. Version 1.0 is thoroughly enjoyable, and though I would be content to keep it, I'm certainly looking forwards to the improvements in 1.1. The most important new feature for me will definitely be multiplayer campaigns. I enjoy playing wi...

I've been playing 2D, sprite-based games all my life (mostly SNES; I find most 3D game...

Fixed

Okay, I figured out what it was, and it was my own silliness. I got so used to calling testing Sarge, I mistook the Sarge packages for testing packages, and I'm actually running testing. I installed the official packages from unstable, and they work fine.

Wesnoth 1.0 Sarge backport depends on nonexistant package

I was trying to install the DEBs from the Wesnoth Sarge backport, and I got this error: The following packages have unmet dependencies: wesnoth: Depends: libzipios++0c102 but it is not installable Looking at libzipios++0 says that it replaced libzipios++0c102. I know this has to do with the ongoing ...

I don't understand why Mage doesn't violate RIPLIB. Mages are lawful, and so they get a bonus on their 7-3 (which I believe makes it a 9-3). Red mages are neutral, so, during the day, their 8-4 has less damage per hit than a mage's attack. White mages are lawful, but the attack type changes to holy,...

This feature could be implemented in a way that didn't affect gameplay and didn't need any new AI coding. It could just be a short cut that makes the first unit move out of the way, the second unit move in, and the first unit move back, using the least number of moves possible. Of course, this seems...

I've always thought this kind of thing would be a great idea. I'm a big fan of keeping frequently used information where you're going to be looking. It'll be really useful already, but I think it would be even better if, when the cursor was over an enemy unit, it displayed text like this for the ene...
