Re: Winter 2009 - Map Making Contest!

I updated my map with some fixes right before the contest's deadline.
Make sure to get the latest version on page 2.

Re: Winter 2009 - Map Making Contest!

I finally managed to wake up from my eternal lazyness (thanks Doc!) and gather all the files needed to submit my map. So here it is, the (crappy) name is inspired by the map layout, obviously (even though it is less obvious after many changes from the original version). About the gameplay: the map i...

Re: 1v1 multiplayer map

The terrain in the middle was changed to impassable grassland/hills but it was reverted because more than one person noticed it was hard (at first sight) to recognize where units could effectively move (since keeps are pretty "close"). So for now it will remain impassable mountains. I'm also interes...

Re: 1v1 multiplayer map

i guess that whatever you use to make it distinguishable from the rest of the terrain (sand, deep water, lava, chasm, cave..) it just won't fit with the rest of the map.. If normal grassland or hills or forest plus impassable doesn't work because it confuses the players i'd rather have some boring i...

Re: 1v1 multiplayer map

Your critics are reasonable. Indeed, even if the map looks better without impassable, the normal terrain 'modified' is not easily recognizable as the former.. I tried adding chasm or lava which sadly look uglier than when i see myself in the mirror in the morning :P I guess the solution is not to pl...

Re: 1v1 multiplayer map

bbbbbbtw if that is the ONLY thing that u share, why dont u insert an inpassable terrain that looks like grasland to seperate urs from his ? .....Why on earth would he want to make an otherwise normal-looking patch of grass impassible? I'm hoping this was supposed to be a humorous quip and I'm just...

Re: 1v1 multiplayer map

It is funny because i really didn't know about that map; after all i don't play so many 1v1 so i have not yet tried grrr's mod. Still i think my map looks better :P (you can't expect a different answer from the author ;) ) Jokes apart, after a closer look at Hagbart's map the only things that i see ...

Re: Random Default Map: Merged map updates (0.8.4)

I would be very pleased to see my map added to the pack in the 'extra' section; thanks for reminding me grrr ;) Edit: I just realized now that my map could look similar to hagbart's. Of course, they are not related in any way (i didn't even know about its existance actually). Still, if you think it ...

Re: 1v1 multiplayer map

After some more mp playtesting, i came up with an almost "final" release for this map (that means i am not willing to touch anymore unless something is very wrong with it).. Added (hopefully) more dynamism to the map with a different village placement and more water for fishes/flying units at both s...

Re: 1v1 multiplayer map

Thanks for your suggestions, i edited the map (and the first post, with latest changes)) making it a big lengthier. You were right, i didn't take in consideration quick gryphons/bats at turn 3, but that should be fixed now.. I also made some minor fixes to reflect my original idea: each player is su...

1v1 multiplayer map

Any balance change, critic, suggestion is welcome. Have fun! Edit1: updated map after Doc's suggestions Edit2: a few more improvements after some mp...

Re: Wesnoth Mac 1.5.13 Does NOT Install: Alias Broken

I got the same problem as described by ancestral, although i didn't care much and simply dragged the binary in the folder manually :hmm:

EDIT: i forgot to say that i am using a PowerMac G5 with MacOSX 10.5.6

In the Downloads page, the Mac version still says "current version 1.1.18" (same as previous version) while the file actually points to the 1.1.19 binary.. I wouldn't have noticed without passing the mouse over the link..
