The campaign, "An Orcish Incursion" is quite like an advanced tutorial as each scenario is designed to show off a specific advanced tactic -- which you are told to use at the beginning of the scenario.

I think the difficulty levels need to be standardised more. Currently it's all defined by the campaign designer. There doesn't even have to be any choice, let alone the same name or number of levels. My impression is that campaign designers have one difficulty level they test better than the others ...

You can pick up another trident in a latter scenario. I like them enough that I'd replay to get both. However from the sound of it most people aren't too fussed about having a loyal high HP magic user or two.

So if they say "let's play again tomorrow at the hour of ogre", both players mean the same time I think Edward de Bono has suggested something similar for real world time. he suggests it would be more practical for everyone to have the same time (although different times would mean eg. &q...

The key is breaking the first wave of attacks. The easiest solution is to defend using the river (since the first wave of attackers goes North then East) and Delfador. Hitting them in water is a piece of cake. Also you can recruit more troops for the fight since your reinforcements are quick to get ...

I'd like to see a couple of additions, of 1-2 scenarios each, to the story line to handle: (1) the slaying of the nephews of the old king. It seems like after victory at Wedlyn Disto would have to go after the dead King's brother and his sons as they might be considered an alternative claim to the t...

Played all scenarios on "normal". I don't see an option in your poll that represents my view of it. Is this an early version of the campaign as yet? The maps seem crude and the time allowed is way WAY over the top and is probably too easy even for "Easy" by a long way. I disagree...

I hit a bug on loading scenario seven. In the folder I see there are nine scenario files and the ones I haven't played are called "sixthA" "eight" and "tenth". Am I missing a file? Should I rename "sixthA"? So I've only played 6 of the scenarios on Normal. My ...

Save game map preview violates map fog

This might have been fixed inthe newest version.... On scenarios with the fog where you cannot see the layout of the map (not just the fog where you can't see the enemy move) you get shown the map layout when you go to load a saved game. There's a preview of the saved game position which prints the ...

A facility for making it easier to add monsters to a central testing list might make play testing new abilities easier. Depends if anyone would enjoy making the art work for them though.

Cavalier unit looks like a crab

http://wesnoth.slack.it/units.cgi?page=view&unit=Cavalier Not in that picture but the 3rd level unit Cavalier always looks odd to me - not that I see much of it. Almost crab like when it's against a hex like grasslands. I have to look hard at it to see the horse. I think it's because something's...

Scenario 1: it is not supposed to matter how much gold you spend, it is lost in scenario 2. It's a bug. Why not just have no fortress and start both sides already with soldiers? Make all the units on the Drake side loyal so that the player immidiately knows that there's no issue as far as gold goes...

It would be easier to beat up the Humans AND the Orcs and the Elves on the "Drake Escape" scenario than take on the Dwarves in caves. That scenario was perfect for a Drake defence. The river has exactly one hex they can cross on, where I can attack them with 3 units backed by leaders, and ...

The pirate Kogw's upgrade violates RIPLIB. He gets worse at combat. He's not a very good piece for a level 2 in the first place, which is ok since it's meant to be a Drake campaign, but maybe give him two attacks: default of 13-3 and the 12-2 backstab you gave him for level 3. Is it possible to fini...
