Re: The Irdya design thread
Options for every kind of player. Grinding, management, tactics, whatever. Perhaps a Monster Hunter option. Just search for specific creatures or monster herds to kill and collect (and make items/enhancements from). To avoid power creeping, everything coming from these "game" would only wo...

Re: What is everyone's favorite movie at the moment?
District 9
So many things happening, most of them being resolved by the end of the movie. Sure, time jumps from scene to scene, but i won't slander the man who filmed that with only 30 m.

Re: Rename "thief" to "scoundrel"
Well, since the description speaks about rat-catchers, perhaps something in the vein of Alleycat or Hoodlum would be more appropriate. Actually, i think there is a word for people living in the streets which wasn't hobo, but i can't remember it.

Re: Wesnoth Online World?
You already have a map, so perhaps something simple like those zombie vs. survivors game would be easily achievable. That or instancing every hex to accommodate a skirmish. On leveling: Pick Race, travel through the Wesnoth unit trees. Watch as people try to get unit combos in the party. Lots of AML...

Late to the thread, but that looks awesome in game. I think i would rather have your style, since they feel as epic as the portraits. Then again, art shift, ouch.
Ah yes, rumours of my death have been greatly exaggerated.

Re: Loyalist Portrait Series
It is sad that the only thing i can think of is that blued steel actually became something of a fashion if you were rich enough to have it, and thus would fit. But damn if the general public has an idea.
LordBob needs a more pompous title, seriously.

And is this possible too, maybe even on costs?Dragonchampion wrote:recruit Skele Archers that have less exp to level up or something.
It would certainly be interesting to have an Era for people to go "Clasher Drakes", "Magisterium", "Berserkclan" or "Raider Orcs".

Re: Ranged Era
I would prefer upping pierce resistances to some units and adding HP. Then cavalry is only good against non-armoured units, but with more damage you get cavalry one-shooting archers and light infantry.

Re: Ranged Era
Have you read the thread on flanking? Because then you could have the experimental Wesfork that crops up every time about the game.
EDIT:http://www.wesnoth.org/forum/viewtopic. ... &sk=t&sd=a
And then you get Wesnoth Tactics.

Re: Loyalist Portrait Series
Just to get an option out there, if armouring is a worry, you can go transition armour: Brigandine was a cheap way for a mounted man to be armed, and it could be pimped with velvet, silver, blasons, etc. Knights, mercenaries and garrisons did it. Bulbous breastplates were made with two pieces that s...

Re: Unit Sound On Selection
Well, maybe not sounds per unit, but general sounds per unit type. The only utility i saw in sounds was that while you were thinking, you got a cue about what were you clicking, so: 1. click on unit 2. unit automatically executes it's resting animation. A sound relevant to the unit type plays. So if...
