17,16 can be stolen by P1 by a unit with 1 movecost in hills and 10 mp (recruit it at 7,11). On a map with so few villages this may be decisive (most people will probably play it on at least 2 gpv, maybe higher; I'd probably go for at least 3 gpv with only 10 villages on the whole map). That may onl...

I'm not convinced that that replay was characteristic of what will typically happen between those two strategies - in hindsight it's clear that the frontal assault on a skeleton in village with only 3-2 odds was a bad idea (even with average rolls it would probably have gone poorly), and luck slight...

Also would it make sense to set the default advancements to the advancements that don’t break the RIPIB rule in a unit that has all the other advancements break it? Or is it possible to have a customisable list for preferable advancements done individually by each player? RIPLIB, and yes. The val...

As for this argument, you have brought no proof that the matchup is unbalanced, just conjecture. Using latin legal jargon doesn't impress me either. In your terms its a Priori argument you're presenting here, and it shows. Fair enough. Real proof one way or the other will have to wait for a release...

Well, if there's fog, ghost spam is even stronger: the opponent doesn't know it's coming until after he makes contact and has already done his initial recruiting. Then if he wants to make any counter-recruits he has to wait for enough income to accumulate and then wait more for them to reach the fro...

Ok, so we have a unit that is functional against ONLY ONE faction. I've asked this before and did not get a response; Why do Loyalists get a unit that single-handedly trumps all units of a given faction, but no other faction has such a unit? (Correction: I guess Rebels can get WM/MoL too, but I've ...

Wouldn't a simpler solution just be to make kicks permanent? I.e. if player X is kicked from game Y, he cannot rejoin game Y as long as it continues to exist? Then you don't have to worry about designing, let alone implementing, the mechanics of invitations or password protection or anything like th...
Anyway, isn't berserk an attack special? It would overwrite every other attack special in the game. Additionally, poison and slow (almost) never miss. But poison is useless when everyone has hundreds of HP. So is healing. Even village healing. Fighting 60-70% def units can be very frustrating, but I...

The reduction is mostly percieved... how many units have better than 20% resitance to blade? 8-4 blade (knight) vs 8-5 holy (paladin) => 8-4 vs 7-5 against most units. That is a clear, ugly RIPLIB violation. I thought the GK was the RIPLIB keeper for that upgrade anyway? At least, the names ...

Update: I finally did win this scenario. It's not quite as evil if you make a pincer attack, attacking the ancient lich from both sides simultaneously. This reduces the problems with the narrow opening and lets you kill off some of the skeletons first. I don't know why that didn't occur to me sooner...

1. Normal 1.1.7 2. 10. Starting with no gold is very annoying but almost inevitable after the major cash drains of CitF (if you choose to side with the elves it is almost impossible to win early or to hold villages) and the almost completely villageless TGaI. So you're slow, outnumbered, in very bad...

The other reason Nightstalk isn't used much IMO is that when you have a shadow, which is chaotic, at night, normally you want it to be fighting something while it has +25% damage on its brutally strong backstab (IIRC, it's 8-3 base, doubled to 16 for backstab, night makes that go up to 20-3...) Nigh...
