The AI is limited by someone writing a better one. If you're interested in improving the AI that is very much appreciated. Even a special AI for this scenario would probably be interesting.

For me the 1.10 app is called iWesnoth and the 1.14 one just Wesnoth.

I suggest not worrying about single player balance too much. I don’t think it’s generally that precise to begin with and there is plenty of ways to fix any issues that should arise besides tweaking unit stats. We definitely don’t want separate sp and mp stats. Most campaigns are on 40% carryover nowadays if that really is still an issue and a further decrease does not seem like a solution than maybe we should think about some completely new carryover mechanic. A maximum gold limit means to optimize you need to figure out at what turn you reach the maximum...

I think adding a link to the novel somewhere in the campaign list/description is worth considering. Perhaps you could file a feature request on https://bugs.wesnoth.org and explain what URL exactly you‘d like to add and where.

The position of the end turn button is defined by the current theme. At least one other theme comes with wesnoth AFAIR. You could try that. Otherwise you or someone else could make a theme that better fits your needs. There is for example the "Combat Information Theme" available as an addon. I think...

There is a commandline option for the resolution. You can try starting wesnoth with:

Code: Select all

wesnoth -r 1280x800
Depends on your OS on how exactly to do that.

It would also be interesting to see if any errors get logged since I would have expected editing the preferences file to have worked.
