Cheating is very rare, AFAIK. Concerning the fact Wesnoth is mostly defensive, I'd say that the main difficulty in Wesnoth is to learn how to have efficient attacks. Most beginners don't know how to attack well. Even for me it's the most difficult part, even more so since I don't have time this year...

On the computer I use to play Wesnoth, I have both Windows XP Home Edition, and Mint Linux 3.0 KDE Edition (which works better than Kubuntu for me). Then the other computers I have have Mandrake Linux, Ubuntu, Absolute Linux, Windows (one with 95 and one with 3.1), Damn Small Linux. Then I have olde...

The last one is funny as well. The graphics now are oudated, but that doesn't really matter.

Who did them, BTW? I can't remember them...

Good luck with Real Life. I hope we'll see you back soon. May Eloh be with you!

Since you asked, and even though it's not in my regular habits, I'll pray for you.

The idea is a really good one, actually. Comic 1. is a little too classical. I'd award it this smiley : :) The real problem with is actually was that I didn't know in what order I had to read the bubbles in the second box (I first thought the leader's speech was first, and only realized later it was...

My avatar is powered by the Holy Symbol of Elder Wesnoth, and by the Church of Free Software. My HP is my post number^number of years I've spent on this forum For the rest, I have 100-1, blade attack (melee), with bersek. It would be great to have a new latin translation! I once used to have my Wesnoth turned to latin, in order to train my skills in that language (playing Wesnoth with a latin dictionnary nearby wasn't that much fun, though, so I turned it back to a language I speak soon... but nervertheless, it's a g...

Actually, I've decided that my avatar is a single unit, called "Campfire-man", with 100 movement points. And attacking doesn't reduce my movement to zero. And my weapon? A 1000-5 magical attack of range "long". That's right, long. Unless you're using an old version of Wesnoth yo...

I don't believe that having only defence is the best tactic. It won't make you win, except if your opponent attacks first. I personnaly am good at defense, but lack attacking skills (I have the same problem with chess). And trust me, it is not efficient if your opponent has a good attacking strategy...

Velensk, I seriously doubt that anybody is interested in sending PM's to every registered user on this forum to find out if he/she is interested in mp games or not - if you're, just post in this thread - you don't have to leave here anything - PM may be a sufficient way to contact you ( altough def...

I do not have extended eras installed on my fresh new installation of Wesnoth, but I the messages I got were from a game hosted by someone else (who might have had those eras installed). Having said that, the errors came from mainline units, like mermen or the halberdier, or the elvish fighter. The ...

Those two were the only ones that I've heard of that seemed to have any staying power, really... maybe because of the well-defined purpose beyond the secret club handshake. :P If you looked at our site you would have seen that our clan has purpose too. Here is a quote from our website: "I woul...

Well, as long as those messages are going to disappear as soon as 1.4 is out, and that there won't be too many versions between both, it doesn't really bother me. (I perfectly well understand the reasons behind it) I understand that 1.3.x is a development version, but still a lot of people use it to...

Aside from the n3t clan, which is simply a note saying 'I won't join all your games, don't invite me into 3-team games' teams do nothing productive, are generally habituated by noobs, and get annoying with their attempts at recruiting. If you want a group of friends to play together, you don't need...
