Re: On what version did you first play Wesnoth?

0.8.something. One of the early 0.8 releases.
I still think the old Konrad, et al portraits look neat.

EDIT: Heh, it was probably whichever version was latest when I joined way, way back in Feb 2005. :)

Re: Heir to the throne : chapter 1 : can I ally with the Orcs ?

It would be interesting to give Konrad more options and freedom. I know I get tired of Delfador lecturing Konrad and telling him what to do, especially once Konrad hits level three. Maybe you could even side with the orcs against the queen? Do it when Delfador leaves you and give him a surprise when...

However, saving is still a good idea, because if you make a tactical mistake that you don't notice until it's too late to undo it, you can load the beginning of turn save and try something different. Saving and loading can be used to subvert luck, but that's not the *only* thing it can be used for....

I'm planning on keeping it a 1.0 campaign, if only because I haven't yet figured out how to get 1.1 for OS X... Scott, I've got some translation questions if you get a chance. gdou generously translated my campaign into French, but I can't get it to appear in the game. How do I get from having a di...

I encountered a similar problem, except I sided with the Elves, and got a "The game could not be loaded: load game failed: unit not found: Sea Hag" after the disappearing Lich/pick a side scenario.

Speaking of that scenario: I recently beat it (playing Wesnoth 1.1) using the "blow the bridge" method with nearly all of my recallable units and all the heros south of the bridge. On the next scenario, however, Gweddry reverted to a lieutenant (he was a general), Dacyn and Owaec were missing, and I...

Save Game Compatability 0.8.9->0.8.10

Will saved games from 0.8.9 work properly under the new patch? I'm a good way into HttT and Rise of Wesnoth, and I'd rather not have to start HttT all over to fix the campaign-killing bug.
